Director of Software Engineering, Research Data Platforms

We are looking for a Senior Engineering Manager/Director to lead the Engineering Enablement (Engine) group in our Research Data Platforms (RDP) organization and help us accomplish our mission to improve lives by learning from the experience of every cancer patient. 

RDP, as an organization, empowers Flatiron’s Evidence business to create and iterate on innovative data products by building and operating software platforms and self-service tooling that streamlines the creation and maintenance of our world-class Real World Evidence data products. The Engine sub-organization is specifically focused on accelerating the pace of development for all Evidence engineers and building/scaling our next generation Machine Learning platforms.

What You'll Do

In this role, you'll manage 2 platform engineering teams supporting the Evidence engineering division of Flatiron. In addition, you'll also:

  • Provide mentorship and career development to tech leads, managers and senior software engineers
  • Hire and foster an inclusive culture to retain world class engineering talent
  • Partner with a senior product manager to lead the ideation of the next generation of shared tooling, infrastructure and processes to increase the Evidence engineering teams’ velocity
  • Lead teams to deliver infrastructure and services that reduce Evidence engineering development and operational friction
  • Identify initiatives that accelerate the Evidence technical vision
  • Effectively partner with your technical and product stakeholders. Drive your technical strategy through a prioritized roadmap

Who You Are

You're a software engineer with 4 or more years experience managing large or multiple software engineering teams. You are excited by the prospect of rolling up your sleeves to tackle meaningful problems each and every day.
