Responsibilities:
MaxLinear is seeking a Director of Strategic Marketing focused on High Speed Interconnect (HSI) to join our growing team. You will be responsible for product and strategic planning, product definition, product positioning, NPI product line management, competitive analysis, competitive positioning, marketing communications, standards, public relations, and tactical marketing. In this role, you will focus on the following:

Work with key partners, customers, and end users to drive adoption of MaxLinear solutions for their current generation deployments

Work with end users, customers, technology partners, and standards bodies to define the right requirements for next generation roadmap products and put in place partnerships to ensure adoption

Create detailed market / business and product plans

Drive product lifecycles and manage from inception to commercialization (feature roadmaps, product roadmaps, pricing)

Prepare Marketing Requirements Documents (MRDs), Technical Requirements Documents (TRDs), Competition and Return-on-Investment (ROI) analysis for all new and updated product releases

Product positioning of our current products in new and existing market segments; driving efforts for design wins and forecast revenue associated with all new design activities

Develop and implement communication plans for customers, sales, investors, to create value and address competitive positions

Research and analyze market opportunities, trends, and competitive pressures to create, develop, and execute appropriate product management strategies and roadmap

Provide training and sales tools for the direct sales team and channel partners

Lead cross-functional meetings to track, manage, and communicate overall product line efforts

Contribute to annual corporate planning

Travel as necessary
Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of datacenter networks, both at a system and component level
-
Ability to understand customer needs and pain points and translate those into products with appropriate tradeoffs

Skilled at matching customer needs to company core competency to create differentiated products

Excellent ability to listen and ‘sell’ product concepts and technologies internally and externally with a passion for technology

Track-record of success leading aggressive, results-driven product management and product planning strategies and initiatives. This should include experience developing product roadmaps and extensive experience taking product from inception to commercialization, delivering on-time and the financial results targeted.

Past success influencing opinions and actions of key stakeholders within their organization, customer, and partners

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including market research and data gathering, ability to think / conceptualize independently and creatively, strength in building and analyzing complex financial models, and excellent business judgment and ability to synthesize, analyze and extract implications

Excellent communications skills, both oral and written, including experience creating and making highly effective presentations to senior management

Strong organizational, project management, and execution skills and a demonstrated ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment and work effectively at all levels of an organization

High-performance orientation, commitment to continuous improvement, excellent follow-through and with strategic capability but also willing to roll up your sleeves

BS in Electrical Engineering or related + 11 years of experience, or MS + 9 years of experience, or Ph.D. + 6 years of experience
Compensation and Benefits:
MaxLinear has a Total Compensation philosophy which includes base salary and annual discretionary bonus eligibility and many positions also include stock-based compensation.
MaxLinear expects to offer a starting base salary within the range of: $158,700 to $246,330 Annually

The actual starting base salary will be determined by the match to certain role-related criteria such as educational degree(s) or equivalent, relevant work experience, skillset needed for the role, and geographic location; this is not an all-inclusive list as some roles may require unique skills or experience.
