Summary
Avid is seeking a highly qualified Director of Systems and Cloud Services to lead our production cloud infrastructure efforts. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing and building platforms that support both customer-facing solutions and internal workloads in multiple cloud environments, and will be responsible for driving a transformation to turn the cloud operations team into a service-oriented organization. This role will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, availability, and scalability of our cloud infrastructure to support Avid’s internal and rapidly growing SaaS business.

Director of Systems and Cloud Services
Job Summary
The Director of Systems and Cloud Services will manage a global team of cloud engineers and system administrators that is responsible for the design, implementation, coordination, control, security, maintenance, and troubleshooting of various technologies that support Avid’s internal and external workloads. The position will report directly to the VP of Information Technology.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Lead and develop a team of cloud engineers and system administrators to ensure the smooth and secure operation of our cloud and on-premise infrastructure and services

Drive the development and implementation of cloud operations strategies that align with business goals and support the overall technology vision

Collaborate with multi-functional teams to identify and evaluate new cloud technologies, tools, and services to support the organization's evolving needs

Ensure the development and maintenance of infrastructure standards, policies, and procedures to maintain reliability, availability, and security

Monitor and report on infrastructure performance, utilization, and costs to ensure that resources are being used effectively

Develop and handle operations budgets and resources to meet organizational goals

Select, monitor and manage vendors and contractors

Drive the adoption of standard processes of cloud infrastructure and automation across the organization

Continuously improve and modernize our systems
-
Ensure the development and maintenance of disaster recovery and business continuity plans for all critical systems

Ensure operations are supported by good technical documentation
-
Develop and manage processes to ensure compliance with regulatory and certification controls
-
Oversee the 24x7 support team(s) that provide support for critical production systems
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
-
Bachelors’ degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
-
8-10 years professional experience in high-performing enterprise class international / global technical service/operations environments, with 3+ years of management experience

Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, security, networking, storage, container, and compute technologies

Experience with multiple cloud technologies, with significant experience managing Azure
-
Ability to drive the adoption of standard processes in cloud operations and automation across the organization

Experience in developing and maintaining disaster recovery and business continuity plans for all cloud-based systems

Experience with IAM and SSO technologies and support

Strong interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), with the ability to work well in a diverse team-oriented global work environment

Experience managing Azure AD

Experience designing and implementing automation to support cloud operations, particularly in provisioning/deprovisioning of cloud assets

Experience with Infrastructure as Code
-
Excellent customer service and organizational skills, including the ability to support multiple projects at one time, and technical project management skills

Experience with ITIL-based operations

Cloud certifications in one or more of the major cloud services is a plus

US Pay Transparency Range $160,000.00 - $190,000.00
