Director of Talent Development

Summary

We’re looking for someone who can lead the creation of a program that focuses on development and learning while connecting that to a meaningful career progression for our team. In this role you’d be responsible for crafting, implementing, and iterating upon our talent management and learning strategy, including assessing our team needs, developing programming, and scaling your efforts across functions. You’ll be the creative director and all-hands-on-deck implementer of the programming you craft. You’ll drive outcomes that impact our entire organization, with the opportunity to build a team over time.

  • You’re a thought leader in talent management and development; you assess needs with immense curiosity and love piloting development experiences to upskill a growing organization; you’re in touch with industry best practices 
  • You’re a passionate project manager with the ability to keep many programs moving at once. You build deep partnerships across stakeholders and have a varied approach depending on your audience 
  • You’re a doer energized by building learning experiences that can be tailored to different audiences with a variety of skill sets 
  • You thrive in moments of change and have an ownership mentality and growth mindset; you’re able to do the work, teach the work, and eventually delegate the work to a team once we’re ready to grow. You can build programming and deliver programming with equal rigor.
  • You are creative in your approach, building tools and programing with empathy 

Your day-to-day

  • Partner with the business and People team to craft tools that help assess needs and drive meaningful development opportunities for teammates  
  • Build and deliver engaging learning experiences in key growth areas you’ve identified
  • Design and implement a comprehensive talent management strategy that invests appropriately at every stage of the employee lifecycle, informed by business needs and industry research
  • Identify key analytic metrics you want to measure to gather insights to inform future activities
  • Leverage change management methodologies and deploy communication plans to ensure your brilliant programming is being maximally implemented; assess success and iterate on your approach
  • Nurture an environment where talent management, learning, and development are top of mind; create training that provides all skills necessary for teammates to be successful in their roles and opens doors for the team to further grow and develop beyond their initial scope
  • Over time, hire and manage a team that can strategize and implement talent development programming in partnership with the business
