Summary:

Advisor Group is looking for a driven and motivated working leader needed for a fast-paced, results-oriented HR team!

Reporting directly to the CHRO, with a seat on the HR Leadership team, this role will have significant impact transforming the organization toward a performance driven, results-oriented culture. We are seeking a leader who is a highly effective, an influential change agent, with a passion for innovation and creativity in designing and implementing solutions that develop talent and increase organizational performance. An agile leader responsible for the strategic and tactical learning agenda for Advisor Group’s Employees and Financial Advisors – collaborating with the HR team and business leaders to build and implement programs, processes, with measurable results. An enterprise team player affecting culture change, engagement and retention, mentorship, learning and development, career growth, performance management, and talent (leader & employee) development.

The Director of Training has two teams to manage and integrate and should be comfortable with all phases of strategy delivery: creation, advancement, refinement and execution AND have experience of building and motivating high performing teams during times of transformation.

  • HR Talent Development team of 4, responsible for employee, leader and executive leader training and development programs

  • Operations Training team of 7-8, responsible for all internal business training for call center and operations teams

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a complete understanding of the competitive marketplace, best practices, and emerging trends for learning and development strategies and activities

  • Analyze and apply information in the development and execution of strategies and determine what is needed to transform formal and informal learning into a performance advantage for the organization

  • Create, deliver, and measure learning and development strategies

  • Conduct talent assessments, develop tools and effectiveness analytics

  • Design and deliver learning curriculum; excellent written, presentation and communications skill are required

  • Assess, select, and implement programs as appropriate ranging from design, facilitation (instructor-led, eLearning, multimedia) to execution (internal, external, train-the-trainer) to evaluation, ensuring learning and development is delivered with the highest impact and in the most cost-effective and efficient manner

  • Understand and embrace the use of technology to drive learning, including the use of mobile learning, micro learning, social learning, blended learning, video-based learning, learning management systems and gamification

  • Work closely with key leaders, stakeholders and team members to design, pilot and embed L&D programs based on needs and optimal solutions

  • Collaborate with leadership across the organization to design effective new hire onboarding and orientations, training, development opportunities, competency enhancement, career growth, and knowledge transfer

  • This position is owner of New Hire Orientation program and related manager and employee resources

  • Work with new employees to develop targeted development plans. In conjunction with the new employee's leader and Human Resources Business Partner, identify development opportunities to advance capability

  • Design and execute leadership development curriculum with a focus on building a pipeline of leadership talent. Design and execute new manager development curriculum to prepare new and experienced managers

  • Develop and implement mentorship programs as a pathway to career progression and to build out talent

  • Influences organizational decision-making with the use of relevant, value-added metrics

  • Participates in the design and implementation of integrated talent development solutions including, executive coaching, individual development planning, talent reviews, succession planning, and leadership development

  • Leads and develops results-driven performance management tools and processes that integrate with the organization’s values and core competencies.

  • Responsible for annual programs and all aspects of delivery for leadership development, growth summits and meetings and class-based cohorts

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Educational Technology, or related field preferred, high school diploma (or equivalent) in combination with significant experience will be considered in lieu of degree. Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent is required

  • Advanced degree in related field is a plus

Basic Requirements:

  • 7-8 years of experience leading, creating, and facilitating leadership, change management, learning, performance support, career and talent development, instructional design, learning systems, business transformation and organizational development processes with an understanding of knowledge management or relevant content strategy

  • Experience Working in other high customer touch businesses and/or fast-paced call center environments an advantage

  • High levels of resourcefulness, influence/organizational savvy, execution skills (strategy through implementation), business process engineering and strategic planning coupled with financial acumen, as well as executive presence/impact are critical to the success of this individual

  • A relationship-driven leader with the ability to balance the strategic with the practical to implement and drive execution

  • Experience with design of curriculum with subject matter expertise in leadership and professional development

  • Strong process thinking and project management skills with demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholder priorities at once

  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities; has a strong bias for action

  • A proven track-record of advancing a corporate culture and successfully leading significant change management initiatives

  • Must have proven ability to conceptualize, lead, implement and monitor broad learning and development related programs and initiatives in the context of broader business/organizational objectives

  • Requires well-developed and highly effective listening, communication, presentation, and persuasive skills, including the ability to receive, process and present both strategic and tactical information to diverse audiences while maintaining effective, collaborative relationships with all stakeholders including Executive Leadership members, vendors, business leaders, management, and staff

  • Learning Management System, and talent development related technologies and platform experience (selection, configuration, implementation, reporting) specifically Workday and Cornerstone highly desirable

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience in the Wealth Management / Financial Services industry highly preferred
