Position Overview

The Director of Operations will oversee the day-to-day activities of Paylocity’s global payroll business unit, ensuring that the organization is managed and performing efficiently and effectively. More specifically the Director oversees all implementation and support functions of the global business.

This position works closely with internal business users, external customers, and in-country partners to ensure that we understand the “voice of the customer” and the “voice of the employee” so that we execute using the right vision, strategy, attitude, and processes to deliver service excellence.

To succeed, the right person is an accomplished operations professional with Global Payroll experience who is skilled at structuring and growing teams, process improvement, directing systems development, and is hands-on leader with a proven track record in strategy, management, planning and execution while creating a “Best Place to Work” environment for our employees.

Location: Remote

Primary Responsibilities

  • Responsible for defining the vision and developing goals for Global Payroll Operations teams
  • Oversee Implementation, Service and Support, and GL teams, ensuring each is reaching their goals
  • Responsible for capturing data and working with our product development teams to improve Web Globe needed to support our customers, allow for positive and efficient implementation experiences, and drive additional opportunities.
  • Manage, develop, plan, and guide the strategic activities of the Operations teams to achieve accepted goals and meet SLAs with customers and in-country partners.
  • Communicate and explain new directives, policies, or procedures to managers; for major changes, meets with entire operations staff to explain changes, answer questions, and maintain morale.
  • Partner with International Partnership team to develop best operational practices to work with in-country partners worldwide and identify opportunities for improvements.
  • Improve customer service and satisfaction through policy, procedural changes, and prioritizing product development needs.
  • Establish quantitative and qualitative metrics (KPI’s), guidelines, and standards by which the global payroll business unit’s efficiency and effectiveness can be evaluated; identifies opportunities for improvement.
  • Responsible for career planning and employee development of all operations team.
  • Lead coordination and integration of efforts among operations, technology and integration with Paylocity’s customer service to produce smoother workflow and effective business processes.
  • Project a positive image of the organization to employees, customers, and partners.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Travel: up to 40%

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Proven track record of managing above and across an organization.

  • Extremely proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Experience with Salesforce CRM a plus.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or related field; MBA a plus
  • 5+ years leading Global Payroll & HR Operations is required
  • 5+ years of leading leaders and change management
  • 3+ years of experience in recruiting, hiring, and scaling teams
  • Experience working alongside and collaborating with software development teams
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively plan and meet deadlines
  • Operational management experience in a growing environment; developing and implementing scalable processes
  • Experience developing, implementing, and managing control/auditing processes via a recognized process improvement methodology, (such as Lean Six Sigma), is a plus
  • Experience developing and driving adoption of cross departmental processes preferred
  • Experience collecting data and driving development priorities using a data focused approach is a plus

This role can be performed from any office in the US. The pay range for this position is $117,126 - $169,501/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for an annual bonus and restricted stock unit grant based on individual performance in addition to a full range of benefits outlined here. This information is provided per the relevant state and local pay transparency laws for the location in which this position will be performed. Base pay information is based on market location.
