Director, Performance Creative Strategy

The Role

As a Director on our Performance Creative team, you will have the opportunity to support and help build our Performance Creative department at Wpromote! In collaboration with our talented media and client services teams, you will be providing strategic creative ideas/concepts and campaigns to surpass our client's goals through data-driven creative. This role will have you training and mentoring the Performance Creative Associate Directors, leading creative vision for your team’s book of business, and actively supporting high-touch creative pitches to our new and current client roster.

The anticipated annual salary for this role will range from $95,000 - $130,000, based on consideration of a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years and depth of experience, education and certifications, competitive benchmarks, scope of responsibility, market dynamics, geographic location, and respective state’s salary threshold for exempt employees. The total compensation package for this role will include benefits (listed above) and an annual performance bonus.

This role has an associated annual target bonus component which is paid out based on a number of factors which include Company performance, department performance, and individual performance. Bonuses are not guaranteed and you must be an active employee in good standing and not on a Performance Improvement Plan to be eligible for the annual bonus.

You Will Be

  • Responsible for the success of enterprise clients, partnering with and overseeing Art Directors, Associate Directors, and Performance Creative Managers to improve paid media channel performance through creative
  • Review team allocations on a weekly basis, analyzing utilization data effectively and executing team capacity planning to meet staffing needs for both new and existing business
  • Providing bi-annual performance reviews and customized professional development plans for direct reports
  • Developing and maintaining strong rapport with enterprise clients and account managers to ensure client satisfaction
  • Preparing and leading medium to large sized video and stills shoots alongside our Executive Producer
  • Developing innovative performance-centric creative campaigns for clients, adapting their brand identity and guidelines into audience-specific messaging aligned with channel best practices
  • Supporting upsells and generating buy-in on concepts and briefs to sell in performance creative retainers and projects that media buyers can use for testing and generating stronger channel performance
  • Partnering with Client Services and Media teams to ensure the team’s recommended new concepts and iterations are aligned to achieve our client’s KPIs
  • Working with Motion Designers, Graphic Designers, and Editors on high-touch production projects to turn creative concepts into static and video assets that fit agreed-upon client brand guidelines while adhering to performance creative best practices
  • Partnering with People Operations to identify, attract, hire and retain talent
  • Leading standardization of concept decks, performance analyses, pitch docs, and budgets across the Associate Directors’ teams
  • Providing creative strategy and channel-specific thought leadership
  • Supporting the Head of Performance Creative by driving strategic ideation and innovation across your clients and within the Performance Creative team, facilitating new channel exploration and growth opportunities
  • Driving the development of cross-department initiatives across Paid Search, Paid Social, Programmatic (Display, Video, OTT, Audio, DOOH), and Amazon departments
  • Bringing insights from your diverse creative portfolio to your book of business to improve performance for your clients
  • Providing training and mentorship to onboarding new Performance Creative Managers and Associate Directors

You Must Have

  • 5+ years of experience working for a marketing or advertising agency, brand or internal marketing team
  • At least 2 year owning and managing client relationships to meet creative deliverables
  • At least 1 year working closely with Art Directors, Graphic Designers, and Motion Designers throughout the full ideation, production and editing process
  • Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and mentor both Art Directors with creative executions and Performance Creative Managers with data-driven creative strategy
  • Ability to critically analyze media testing and scaling structures within FB Ads Manager and have comfortability analyzing data from other platforms such as Snapchat, TikTok, and YouTube to ensure optimal conditions for performance
  • Experience working directly with media managers to analyze performance data and determine which assets to scale, which to iterate additional versions upon, and which to stop investing in
  • Experience training, developing and managing creative talent to improve their pace of delivery, sense of autonomy and ownership of meeting client deliverables and understanding of paid media platforms and performance analysis
  • Strong client-facing communication skills for in-person pitches and existing client cross-sells.
