Operation Director – Windsor, CO
This is an exempt level position.
Position Summary:
Directly responsible for all manufacturing teams and assets of Petdine which cover 500 colleagues across 4 production and warehouse facilities in CO and IL Lead day-to-day operations. Ensure that all our customers are receiving the right products in full and on time according to our strategy and our budgets. Ensure full compliance of our operations by enforcing ADM group policies, government regulation and regulatory agencies on: safety, environment, food safety, quality …. Drive continuous improvement journey in our plants by rolling out the lean culture & tools, strict governance, innovation and creativity in coordination with ADM support functions and technology experts. Coordinate with all other Petdine departments (finance, sales, marketing, HR…) to build ADM Pet treat strategy in North America and more specifically own operations 5-year plans, budget, forecast and S&OP. Active member of Petdine leadership team.
Job Responsibilities:-
Actively work to ensure that all ADM employees, visitors, vendors and contractors on site understand and align with the ADM safety policies and comply with all state and federal laws and regulations not limited to lockout/tagout, hot work, confined spaces and working at heights.

Work closely with Food Safety and Quality personnel to ensure continuous audit readiness in a Food Safety plant as well as continuous improvement on main KPIs: CONQ, Claims, FPP…

Utilize assets efficiently and effectively to meet production and quality goals as well as help commercial teams with new product developments

Lead operations in a manner that results in a cohesive, focused, positive climate to achieve organizational goals driving high employee engagement and morale.

Lead sites in establishing policies, procedures and setting priorities

Embrace an owner’s mentality by managing costs and continuously focusing on improvement

Ensure training and development of all our operations employees

Provide mentorship, accountability, and disciplinary support as necessary

Liaise with all other support functions to continuously align on operation strategy, cost and performance

Design and own, Petdine Operation 5yr plan, budget, forecast. Leverage existing ADM resources to support these plans

Active participation to the S&OP process
Minimum Requirements:-
A Bachelor’s degree or higher of Science, Continuous Improvement, Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or similar area of concentration

5+ years of experience leading a production environment in food, pet food processing or similar industry

Excellent leadership ability including a vision for strategic direction, delegation and leading others in work execution

Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, & Food Safety Standards is vital

Excellent written and verbal interpersonal skills

Excellent planning and organizational skills

High energy level and clear customer focus emphasis

Strong understanding of other business functions most notably, Finance, Marketing, Sales, Supply chain, Human Ressources etc.

Demonstrable competency in strategic planning and business development

Possess the ability travel to the different Petdine locations
Preferred Requirements-
8+ years of experience leading a production environment in food, pet food processing or similar industry

Continuous Improvement leadership and application of CI processes in a production environment.

Demonstrated scale-up experience and/or new technology development experience in a production environment

Knowledge of multiple processes and unit operations in a full-scale production plant not limited to mixers, blenders, extruders, SURP and jar packaging system, and finished goods warehousing applications
