What You’ll Do
Horizon Media is hiring a Design Director, Presentation Focus to support creative needs across the agency – with a heavy emphasis on PowerPoint presentation design for both new business and internal initiatives. This position will work closely with stakeholders across Horizon’s departments and the design team, taking full ownership of design projects, leading them from start to finish, driving creative vision, and delivering projects with minimal guidance.
Design Director, Presentation Focus reports directly into SVP, Communications Design and Creative of Treehouse, the creative connections practice at Horizon Media.
PowerPoint Presentation Creative & Design: ~85%-
Work within PowerPoint to create best-in-class, pixel perfect presentations for new business, existing clients, and internal initiatives

Build templates, layouts, graphic content and develop and/or curate imagery, data visualization, charts, infographics, illustrations, and iconography to support key messages for each deliverable

Translate complex information (i.e. charts, tables, stats, etc.) into effective, dynamic, and easy-to-understand visuals

Take full ownership of design projects, leading them from start to finish, driving creative vision, and delivering projects with minimal guidance

Consistently look for new presentation trends and work to develop current and new skills

Quality control projects and work toward high level of quality and cohesiveness

Act as mentor to junior design colleagues and share best practices across the broader organization

Agency Branding & Communications: ~15%

Partner with internal teams on agency marketing materials and communications, including social design, logos, and internal communications

Collaborate with team members and participate in creative discussions, contribute input to the overall visual design of deliverables
Who You Are
You will be a key member of a small and growing team. You should be prepared to work in partnership with other designers and as an individual contributor. You will be asked to leverage your own unique design style as well as follow templates and refresh existing design.
Though your design skills should be razor sharp, you will also be asked to bring strategic thinking and curiosity. We aren’t just producers; we are also creators and problem solvers. As we grow our empire, responsibilities may change and fluctuate. Preferred Skills & Experience

DESIGN CHOPS

6+ years design experience, preferably with a marketing, communications, or media agency

Advanced expertise in PowerPoint, as well as robust working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (particularly Photoshop and Illustrator)

Strong visual storytelling capability and passionate about setting the bar high

Diverse portfolio demonstrating:

Expert presentation skills – including text and data-rich (charts, graphs, diagrams, tables, etc.) content

Marketing and branding work (social and video work is a plus, but not required)

Critical attention to detail with emphasis on accuracy and consistency and ability to thoroughly check own work

Excellent time management skills, with ability to meet quick deadlines under minimal supervision
