The Role:

The Operational Excellence group is seeking a Director of Strategy and Change Management to lead some of the most important strategic initiatives that improve operational safety, productivity, and predictability.

Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Operational Excellence, the Director will help identify the most significant opportunities for operational improvement and translate those into strategic initiatives. They will lead cross-functional teams to conduct root cause analysis, design effective solutions, and bring those solutions to life. This leader will also help to drive the successful adoption of new operations processes, programs, and technologies. They will play a critical role in the on-going alignment across the organization towards Operational Excellence priorities.

This role requires a results-oriented leader with the ability to blend conceptual and analytical frameworks to develop pragmatic solutions. Excellent project management skills, and the ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with all levels of the organization are critical.
Responsibilities:
Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Identify and prioritize the biggest opportunities to improve operational performance, meet project team needs, and drive company goals.
  • Lead Operational Excellence department annual planning process to define priorities aligned to company goals and to translate those into initiatives to drive our desired results.
  • Drive select strategic initiatives with a focus on project management, quantitative and qualitative analysis, communication, realistic solutioning, stakeholder alignment
  • Design and implement strategies to drive successful adoption of new operational processes and technologies by developing actionable implementation plans including sponsor, risk, communication, and training plans
  • Monitor and measure the effectiveness of strategic and change initiatives and identify areas for improvement
  • Work with Operational Excellence leaders and functional department leaders to align their goals and initiatives to the overall Operational Excellence strategy
  • Prepare and present executive-level presentations summarizing findings and recommending actions in compelling way

  • Excellent project management skills with ability to prioritize and drive multiple simultaneous projects
  • Results oriented with excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop creative solutions to analytical, organizational, and behavioral challenges
  • Relationship builder with collaborative style to collaborate at all levels of an organization
  • Clear and concise written and oral communication, adapting information by audience
  • Self-starter who is ready to roll up their sleeves and make an impact in a fast-paced environment

Working Conditions:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; talk or hear; perform fine motor, hand and finger skills in the use of a keyboard, telephone, or writing. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; and reach with arms and/or hands. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The employee will spend their time in an office environment with a quiet to moderate noise level. Job site walking.
