Consumer Intelligence (within Corporate Strategy) was formed at the request of the CEO to increase the business’s focus on our customers. The team uses structured thinking and rigorous analysis to identify opportunities, define strategies, and solve problems. We project our expertise through compelling communication and influence skills that impact critically important, highly visible topics. Recent examples of our work include keeping a pulse on US consumer financial health through the COVID pandemic to inform the C-Suite, partnering with External Affairs to launch the Capital One Insights Center to share insights with non-profit partners, learning why people switch their primary bank to inform new premium credit card launches, and partnering with our Tech and Digital Design teams on the future of our mobile strategy.
Responsibilities:
Lead the development of blank space insights on high priority, high visibility topics focused on customers
Develop and lead the team’s agenda through a balance of strategy and analytics, constantly seeking the “answer to the case” while bringing a rigorous quantitative toolkit to bear
Craft compelling stories rooted in rigorous insights to influence the agendas of senior business leaders in the company
Use deep data to answer questions and surface opportunities for executives about where our biggest opportunities lie
As an example, this role could include leading a cross-functional team to identify the most valuable Enterprise customer journeys - including unpacking where we are today, quantifying opportunities, and influencing business leaders to invest in improving them
Manage and coach high potential associates, including actively crafting a vision for their roles and their success
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree
At least 7 experience in Strategy Consulting, Business Analysis, Corporate Strategy or a combination
Preferred Qualifications:
Proficiently identify and solve problems independently in a constantly changing environment
Strong analytical skills including developing and leading blank space analysis
Exceptional people management and development skills
Fantastic interpersonal skills, with experience influencing senior decision making
Demonstrably strong written and verbal communication skills
