So, what's the role?

Kin is seeking a creative, results-oriented, and data-driven Director, Talent Acquisition to enable our growth. Partnering with Kin leaders and our talented recruiting team, you will lead our talent acquisition strategy, develop a strong employer brand, and introduce highly effective recruiting methods to attract and hire the best talent for Kin. As a capable people leader, you will coach, develop, and support the growth and development of your team. You have the opportunity to create a data-enabled approach to inform and improve our hiring outcomes - from sourcing to onboarding. This role reports to our Chief HR Officer and partners closely with our VP Human Resources and Director, Total Rewards to deliver our overall people strategy. Kin is a remote-first company, with offices in Chicago, Illinois and St. Petersburg, Florida.

A day in the life could include:

  • Personally supporting leadership and executive level searches, leading the search process with Kin's senior leadership team.
  • Coaching, developing and managing talent acquisition managers and recruiters.
  • Designing and delivering talent acquisition strategies to meet our growth targets.
  • Developing recruiting metrics and communicating outcomes through dashboards.
  • Partnering with Kin's finance and executive teams to align hiring priorities and budgets.
  • Partnering with the HR leadership team to develop an integrated DEI strategy, and delivering the recruiting strategy to support our goals.
  • Coaching the team on innovative sourcing strategies, best practices, and pipeline management for evergreen roles.
  • Developing our employer branding strategy, working with internal teams to create content, and managing our recruitment social media presence.
  • Ensuring a positive and differentiated candidate and hiring team experience.
  • Optimizing our ATS (Greenhouse) and integrations with other HR systems.
  • Research and share recruiting trends, market data, and thought leadership with the team.
  • Uplevel our hiring teams' recruiting skills and drive a culture of compliance with all required regulations.
  • Support the cross team sharing of information to deepen business relationships and people team effectiveness.
  • Partnering closely with Finance & HR leadership to build a strategy to strengthen business performance through effective programs for attracting and retaining high caliber talent.

I've got the skills… but do I have the necessary ones?

  • At least 7 years of experience in talent acquisition, including demonstrated leadership of teams in high-growth environments.
  • Passionate about talent acquisition and development of a diverse, engaged recruiting team.
  • Experience developing an employer value proposition, recruiting collateral, and a social media presence (LinkedIn, Glassdoor, etc.)
  • Greenhouse experience desirable but not required, knowledge of similar ATS required.
  • Direct experience recruiting for leadership positions and partnering with executive-level hiring managers.
  • Ability to effectively manage recruiting needs and balance workload across the team.
  • Matured a talent acquisition function, establishing processes, tools, and education to deliver higher value to the organization.
  • Have led diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives successfully.
  • Balance of leadership presence with approachability, build strong relationships, communicate effectively.
  • Proactively identify opportunities and implement appropriate solutions.
  • Resourceful; able to prioritize and flex to quickly adjust to changing priorities.
  • Act with unquestioned integrity, discretion and confidentiality.
  • Deep knowledge of compliance requirements related to fair employment practices.
