We are looking for a leader to scale our growing Technology Operations team. Reporting into the Chief Product Officer, you will partner closely with leaders across Product and Engineering to identify opportunities to drive process and systems improvements. You will oversee Technical Project Management and Product Support at Maven, building a centralized team that owns cross-functional processes and projects in the tech org that create structure as we scale. Your mandate will be to quickly identify, triage, and prioritize problems, and build a team to efficiently solve for them.

As Director, Technical Operations, you will:

  • Build out Maven's new Product Support function, partnering closely with frontline teams, product, and engineering to assess challenges and build a system that enables rapid triage of production issues and reduces engineering time in bug identification and prioritization
  • Manage and grow team of Technical Project Managers that will take on building systems, implementing tools, and providing structure for increased product and engineering efficiency
  • Be accountable to delivering on the technology work streams for complex initiatives that require cross-functional partnership with business teams
  • Evaluate and understand current tools across technology organization and identify opportunity areas to introduce new tools when needed from a business perspective (e.g. migration to Jira from Shortcut)
  • Create system for documentation maintenance to ensure alignment within scaling teams and audit ongoing meetings in order to implement improved communication and meeting structures across Product/Engineering as company grows
  • Partner with engineering leadership to identify and key operating metrics and share with broader team audiences to provide education and drive accountability
  • Partner with product and engineering stakeholders to identify pain points in product deployment lifecycle and implement process improvements with an iterative and collaborative approach in order to increase velocity

We're looking for you to bring:

  • 10 + years of experience building and scaling high performing teams; ability to structure and build functional teams from the ground up
  • Ability to navigate to the the best solution in ambiguous situations, with exceptional communication and problem solving skills that provide frameworks for thinking and clarity for teams
  • Experience leading project management functions with proven ability to increase productivity and project delivery through systems and processes put in place
  • Direct experience working embedded with technology teams and an understanding of the product development lifecycle are highly preferred
