Job Title: Director/Senior Director, Medical Affairs
Department: Medical Affairs
Position Overview:
Reporting to the Global Head of Medical Affairs and working closely with cross-functional partners, this role is responsible for developing and execution of a clinical evidence strategy aligned to Insulet’s global business objectives. You will be an integral part of cross-functional project teams working to advance current and future products including next generation automated insulin delivery systems. Key accountabilities will include development and execution of the Medical strategy and clinical development program as well as providing input into corporate strategy. You will have and maintain an in-depth understanding of type 1 and type 2 diabetes, the current treatment landscape and active clinical research.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development and execution of the clinical evidence strategy for Insulet’s next generation product including clinical trial design and protocol development
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional partners and product development teams to design state of the art and meaningfully differentiated product innovations to improve the lives of people living with diabetes
  • Actively engage with project teams to advance program objectives such as: product design and development, submission, and approval of device applications across global markets, expanding access for current and future products, developing differentiated product claims.
  • Presenting disease, product, and clinical data to internal and external audiences (regulators, payer, providers, etc.) as needed
  • Establish and maintain peer-to-peer scientific relationships with key opinion leaders
  • Build and share knowledge with internal and external stakeholders regarding the use and benefits of current and future Insulet products
  • Maintain a thorough and detailed working knowledge of Insulet’s organization, its products, current scientific research, and publications
  • Coach and mentor a team of Medical Affairs professionals
Education and Experience: Minimum Requirements:
The following is our minimum requirements for being hired at the Director level:
  • Non-Endo MD with 5 – 10 yrs experience in research or medical affairs
  • PhD with 10+ years of experience in research and medical affairs
  • Strong diabetes knowledge including diabetes technology
  • Prior experience with medical device development would be an asset
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced, growth oriented, cross-functional environment
  • Ability to navigate through ambiguity, manage complexity with diverse stakeholders and communicate effectively as a subject matter expert
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
The following is our minimum requirements for being hired at Senior Director level:
  • MD / Endocrinologist
  • 10+ years of experience in Research and/or Medical Affairs
  • Practiced in the design and execution of clinical studies – ideally diabetes technology studies
  • In-depth knowledge for AID systems and diabetes technology
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced, growth oriented, cross-functional environment
  • Ability to navigate through ambiguity, manage complexity with diverse stakeholders and communicate effectively as a subject matter expert
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Physical Requirements (if applicable):
  • This role will involve travel 10 to 20% of the time depending on location
  • Corporate office based in Acton, Massachusetts
NOTE: This position requires field-based working arrangements (travel within assigned territory required). #LI-Remote
Additional Information:
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $207,540.00 - $300,937.50. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position in the primary work location in the US. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
