Disaster Recovery Specialist

Location:
For Those Who Work At Home - Various, Ohio 44145
Facilitates corporate disaster recovery testing initiatives and assists in implementing and maintaining policies. Provide services to Infrastructure and Application Support groups regarding disaster recovery exercises and program requirements. Maintain ownership and accountability for completing recovery procedures and manage activities to monitor the effectiveness of the process. The position will also be responsible for general file transmission oversight (1st level support) and ensuring IT standards are updated and implemented accordingly.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ability to execute/communicate disaster recovery test steps and activities (e.g. touchpoints, pre-tasks, shutdown/restarts, recovery, verification)
  • Experience with use of business continuity planning tools, disaster recovery methodologies, infrastructure and application support areas and function
  • General knowledge of replication procedures, backup/recovery methods, and understanding of Windows Server/Desktop, Unix/Linux, Mainframe, Virtual Server, Oracle/SQL, Storage
  • Fundamental understanding of Secure Protocols: SSH, SFTP, TLS/SSL, VPN, etc.
  • Familiar with networking and communication products (e.g. Tectia, Winscp, NDM, Bizlink, etc.)
  • Understanding of operational standards and risk reviews
  • Experience with service management technologies including incident, problem, triage (e.g. Service Now, etc.)
  • Experience with cloud technologies preferred.
  • Experience with agile tools and methodologies preferred.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Facilitates Data Center Recovery exercises ensuring infrastructure and application support participation prior to and during the test
  • Works with infrastructure and application support partners to address gaps in plans, recovery solutions, and dependencies; resolves issues that have been identified by plan assessors
  • Maintains Disaster Recovery tools’ system of record, as it relates to the infrastructure and application support
  • Perform and coordinate activities associated with ‘ransomware’ including planning, testing, and documentation
  • Work with security, business resiliency partners on backup/recovery standards for internal applications and infrastructure’s
  • Collaborates with technical support teams on data transfer problems to resolve common software-related issues; evaluates data transmission requirements and provides on-going governance and best practices
  • Organizes existing data transfer documentation and regularly update to ensure quality of guidelines and procedures
  • Support projects and demonstrate good decision-making abilities on assignments with minimal supervision
  • Experience with executive/senior management level communication
Required Qualifications:
  • BA degree in IT related field or equivalent work experience
  • Solid process management, organizational skills to prioritize workload and balance out daily tasks
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and maintains control in all situations
  • Excellent written and verbal skills to interact with customers and resources across departments
  • Strong analytical skills to maximize productivity and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Standard PC Skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, SharePoint, etc.)
  • Self-motivated with a strong commitment and incentive to succeed
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $67,000 to $101,000 annually depending on location and job-related factors such as level of experience. Compensation for this role also includes eligibility for short-term incentive compensation and deferred incentive compensation subject to individual and company performance.
