Data Scientist, Analytics - Safety Response

Discord is a leading platform for gamers, hosting over 200 million users monthly. The Data Scientist role on the Safety Analytics team focuses on supporting safety, legal compliance, and transparency through precise data analysis and automation.

Skills

Strong SQL skills with experience on large datasets.
Proficiency in spreadsheet and dashboard tools such as Excel, Tableau, or Looker.
Experience developing and documenting precise business metrics.
Attention to detail and ability to maintain quality under pressure.
Technical curiosity allowing deep dive into codebases with engineering teams.

Responsibilities

Respond to legal and litigation data requests ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Drive transparency reporting and support regulatory requirements including EU Online Safety Act.
Build scalable and automated solutions for recurring legal and compliance data needs.
Collaborate with Adaptive Data teams to analyze safety incidents, spam, and abuse trends.
Develop precise, legally defensible business metrics and SQL queries.
Partner with Data Engineering to ensure data infrastructure supports compliance.

Education

Relevant educational background in data science, computer science, statistics, or related fields assumed.
