Reviews processes for all phases of operations based on quality requirements.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESOrganize and implement plant process improvement projects. Troubleshoot problems and perform root cause analysisProvide quality support to production, customer service, and maintenance to optimize product quality.Provide support to maintain the plant's Quality (ISO 9000) and food safety certification(s)(ISO 22000).Researches and gains an in-depth understanding of current processes and formally documents new areas of process improvement.Conducts time/motion studies to forecast savings in specific department areas.Ensure all quality control and measurement devices are appropriately calibrated and maintained.Provide ongoing communication and training to supervisors and operators on Quality and food safety processes.Coordinate with the Quality Manager to implement and maintain company quality and food safety standards, produce high-quality products, and exceed customer expectations.Work with department managers/superintendents to implement key driver improvement activities through timely and usable product/process quality and safety data collection, data analysis, improvement project measurement, and assisting improvement teams.Support quality managers in training new associates, observe employee activities, and provide accurate feedback and positive reinforcement on work methods and procedures.Coordinates process improvement activities.Understand and follow facility and PCA policies and procedures.Actively develops and promotes open lines of communication to maintain positive employee relations during audits. Motivates employees to contribute ideas for improvement. Encourages employee involvement in internal audits and appropriately recognizes employees for their accomplishments and ideas.Maintain good working relationships with the quality group, management, and other PCA departments.As part of Quality, this individual must assist with regular QA functions and duties assigned by the Quality Manager.Additional duties as assigned by management.Position Requirement• Education equivalent to an associate degree (bachelor's preferred) in industrial engineering management, statistics, business, or a related field.• Two to Three (2-3) years of previous experience in manufacturing.• Two to Three (2-3) years of previous experience developing and implementing quality systems programs in a manufacturing environment.• Certified quality analyst preferred, Six Sigma green belt• Practical training and presentation skills and the ability to facilitate groups in problem-solving.• Solid working knowledge of computer systems, including experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.• Exposure to the manufacturing shop floor and Statistics and Quality software is preferred.• Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle numerous details, deadlines, and requests.• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment, prioritize assignments, and concurrently handle multiple projects and requests.• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to network and build relationships with individuals of various experience and corporate levels within and outside the company.• Strong listening, evaluating, and problem-solving skills. Ability to interpret multiple instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.TECHNICAL SKILLSComputer literate (MS Office including Word and Excel)Knowledge of quality principlesPHYSICAL DEMANDSThe employee is regularly required to walk, talk, hear, sit, and stand. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus-physical requirements to lift to 50 pounds.WORK ENVIRONMENTThe work environment can be loud at times. While performing the duties of this job, the employee could be exposed to humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, driving traffic, and conversion systems. On occasion, some travel may be required.PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTSThe performance of the employee will be measured as follows:Operating standards-The employee must meet or exceed the Operating Standards in the areas of Quality, cost, safety, customer satisfaction, and productivity.
