Description

Land Administration is a leveraged, multi-functional organization responsible for establishing, maintaining, and protecting the legal ownership of real property assets for ConocoPhillips. The department provides distinct value to the company through analyzing legal documents such as oil and gas leases, contracts, title opinions, and conveyance documents to establish and maintain joint venture and revenue ownership. Owner inquiries regarding lease interpretations, ownership interest calculations, payments, and transfer of ownership are managed by the department. The maintenance of lease acquisition costs, and creation of visual representations through use of spatial data for both surface and mineral ownership facilitates and aids in business decisions.

A Division Order Analyst is responsible for establishing and maintaining title ownership in oil and gas producing assets through the examination of oil and gas leases, contracts, division order title opinions, conveyances, and probate documents, as well as other supporting data to ensure timely and accurate payment to interest owners. The Division Order Analyst engages and networks with internal and external business partners to develop the knowledge and experience to make sound business decisions to resolve complex ownership issues in a manner that limits company risk of penalty, litigation, poor owner relationships, and impairment of assets.

Assignments will be at our site located in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Analyze and interpret legal ownership through the examination of division order title opinions and calculate/confirm the correct decimal of interest ownership
  • Address existing title requirements and request curative documentation or collaborate with Land to waive the title requirement
  • Analyze and interpret oil and gas leases and contracts to determine their impact to revenue settlement
  • Establish and maintain legal revenue ownership in SAP-PRA
  • Perform authorization for payment of proceeds to interest owners when title is adequate and authorize suspension of funds when title is not clear
  • Maintain and adjust legal ownership throughout the life of the producing asset by adjusting ownership pursuant to conveyances, probate, court orders, liens, etc.
  • Collaborate with other ConocoPhillips departments and outside parties to resolve conflicts and procure necessary information/legal documentation
  • Develop a network of contacts and maintain a positive rapport with both internal and external customers
  • Review/interpret the effect lease/contracts terms and the impact to Revenue settlement by collaborating with Finance, Land and Royalty Compliance
  • Participate in due diligence activities by validating ownership
  • Develop proficient use of technology resources to aid in resolution of settlement activity

Qualifications


Basic/Required:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States as a U.S. citizen or national, or an alien admitted as a permanent resident, refugee or asylee
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Business, Accounting, Finance, Energy Management, Agricultural Economics, Economics or other related discipline or foreign equivalent
  • 1+ years of direct experience in the Oil and Gas industry
  • 1+ years of direct division order experience

Preferred:

  • Experience with SAP- PRA Ownership Module or other land system software
  • Experience with Spotfire or other data analytics software
  • Experience with Business Objects or other Data Query and Reporting software
  • Takes ownership of actions and follows through on commitments by holding others accountable and standing up for what is right
  • Delivers positive results through realistic planning to accomplish goals
  • Builds effective solutions based on available information and makes timely decisions that are safe and ethical
