Are you the right fit to work on Valmet’s DNA Product Support Team for our Automation Systems Business Line?
We are seeking an experienced Principal Engineer with knowledge of industrial processes and Valmet Automation systems, who will work on our North American Valmet DNAHelp product support team assisting our Customers and other Valmet team members. Our support team includes individuals located in the United States, Canada and Finland.
The purpose of the role is to act as the first point of contact for Customer and Internal product issues. You will work to solve the issues remotely while documenting the situation and solution in our ticketing system. Some cases may require managing a plan for the solution in coordination with our Project/Service Managers.
The successful candidate will build relationships with our Customers and internal stakeholders in order to maintain a high standard of customer satisfaction as well as providing timely resolution to the issues identified. This is a rotational 24/7 on-call position, shared with others in the team.
Since continued professional development is important at Valmet, you will have the opportunity to learn new processes and equipment as well as mentor and train other individuals and assist our project implementation group with specific assignments whenever possible.
Generally, you can expect to self-manage your day-to-day schedule while adapting to the priorities originating from our Customers and other colleagues.
Your background:
We are seeking candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent professional experience and competencies. Additionally, five (5) or more years of related experience in a Senior Service Engineering or Project Engineering role within process industries is desired. Candidates should be very familiar with Valmet Automation control systems. We are looking for someone who is interested in learning, can show a high level of initiative, who can prioritize and multitask well, and who can build relationships with Customers, co-workers, and international partners.
Fluency in English is required, and fluency in French or Spanish will be considered a plus. This role can be based out of a Valmet office or can be performed remotely if the successful candidate is not located near a Valmet office. There is occasional travel to a Valmet office or potentially a Customer site. Travel will be less than 10% and will typically be within North America but may occasionally involve overseas destinations.
