Overview

Dropps is a subscription-based direct-to-consumer business reinventing cleaning for good. We eliminate everything you don’t need and shouldn’t pay for, delivering high-performance, sustainable cleaning products that make life simpler. The brand will be entering brick and mortar channels with strategic retail partners in the near future.


Role Summary:

The VP of Supply Chain is a key operations leader for Dropps and is accountable for directing and managing all end-to-end supply chain activities including procurement, contract manufacturing, sales and operations planning, logistics & distribution and quality. The VP of Supply Chain requires a highly motivated individual with strong operating skills and acumen, interpersonal skills, and the ability to partner with internal and external stakeholders. The VP of Supply Chain will sculpt our company’s sales and operations planning process and oversee its integration, refinement and implementation across all teams. The VP of Supply Chain, in collaboration with our Innovation and R&D teams, will be the fulcrum of our company’s commercialization strategy and execution. The VP of Supply Chain must be able to work in a team environment and be passionate about building consensus, developing individuals, and executing on strategic objectives. 

Responsibilities:

  • Own and manage all aspects of Dropps’ supply chain: contract manufacturing, distribution & logistics, sales and operations planning and quality for Dropps’ multi-channel business
  • Establish a business partnership with the CEO by providing value-added advice in support of Dropps’ goals 
  • Partner with R&D and the Innovation team to successfully commercialize new products and product improvement initiatives
  • Develop, maintain and improve a strategic plan and annual budgets for resourcing for supply chain including but not limited to consolidation and new supplier development for risk management, cost controls, and enhancement of sustainability profile
  • Develop and manage reporting of KPIs and direct the management of operations to ensure that customer orders are fulfilled complete, accurate, and on time 
  • Identify new suppliers for chemistry and non-chemistry based products and help bring to market all new products; work closely with R&D and marketing departments to operationalize these projects
  • Complete transition of our in-house operations to third party partners
  • Own responsibility for all safety and sustainability initiatives at our facility until complete transition of operations is completed
  • Oversee the procurement function and vendor negotiations to ensure the quality and cost effectiveness of all packaging, ingredients, and finished products meet Dropps’ standards 
  • Develop, manage, and optimize inventory levels in all locations through improved planning processes and inventory management systems 
  • Ensure efficient, environmentally sustainable, and cost effective operations for materials, production, transportation, labor, shipping and inventory 
  • Ensure Dropps and contract manufacturers are operating in compliance with all customer, product certification, and government regulations 
  • Provide leadership and guidance on capital projects.
  • Proactively lead team through effective communication, intentional development opportunities, and regular reporting
  • Perform all duties keeping in mind the company’s Community Values
  • Model company values through participation in culture-building programs and initiatives

Requirements, (with or without reasonable accommodations)

  • Commitment to Dropps sustainability mission and ability to uphold Company values.
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in various operations functions including prior experience with both big and small entrepreneurial companies
  • Possess key functional expertise across supply chain including direct management of contract manufacturers
  • Experience with RFP/Q’s and contracts 
  • Prior experience building teams and systems to support aggressive business growth
  • Strong experience developing sales & operations planning process and underlying capabilities
  • Experience with ERP, NetSuite, SAP B1, etc.
  • Experience in CPG highly preferred
  • Clear verbal and written skills
  • Experience developing teams and providing effective leadership as well as clarity in priorities and goals within a remote work environment
  • Ability to gather and interpret data, generate insights, and recommend optimizations and new strategies across all operations
  • Demonstrated commitment to prioritizing diversity and inclusion, as well as sustainability in decision making
  • Ability to travel roughly 20-30% of the time

Physical requirements (with or without reasonable accommodations): 

  • Ability to use common office equipment such as a computer, keyboard, mouse/touchpad, etc. (including adaptive equipment as needed)
  • Ability to visually interpret images, ability to communicate with team members, and attend virtual meetings
  • Ability to move throughout the warehouse and laboratory (no stairs involved)
  • This is a primarily stationary role at a desk (seated or standing, according to preference), so must be able to sustain sitting/standing for the majority of work time

Location: Remote OK, Chicago preferred

Reports to: Chief Executive Officer

Supervises: Procurement, Contract Manufacturing,  Warehousing Operations,
Logistics & Distribution, Sales and Operations Planning Process (S&OP), Commercialization, and Quality

Salary range: $175,000 to $250,000
