Job Description

We are seeking a full-time Real Estate Associate to join our team at our corporate headquarters in Mendota Heights, MN. This on-site position will work at the corporate office of Dungarvin, Inc. and report directly to Robert Lindahl, Broker/President of Robert Lindahl Realty, Inc.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee rents and expenses for a portfolio of real estate properties
  • Track and manage lease documents, amendments, rent adjustments, and operating costs
  • Monitor property values, property taxes, and insurance coverage
  • Serve as the primary contact for residential and commercial tenants
  • Verify tenant lease details for accurate entry into Property Management systems
  • Conduct on-site building and rental inspections, tours, and property condition assessments
  • Support Robert Lindahl Realty with marketing activities for residential and commercial properties
  • Assist the Building Engineer with commercial building maintenance and system needs
  • Enhance efficiency by supporting system and procedural improvements
  • Oversee and manage third-party janitorial services and contracts for commercial properties
  • Maintain and share emergency procedures for fire, power outages, and other contingencies

Qualifications

MUST HAVE:

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Real Estate, or 4 years of Property Management experience (residential or commercial) in lieu of a degree
  • Proficiency with Excel, including working with formulas and creating graphs
  • Experience using Residential MLS, Commercial MNCAR, Costar, and Loopnet

NICE TO HAVE:

  • Real Estate License (or willingness to work toward obtaining one; we offer reimbursement for licensing)
  • Familiarity with accounting or property management software, such as QuickBooks and Yardi

SKILLS ESSENTIAL FOR SUCCESS IN THIS ROLE:

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and resourceful; a motivated self-starter
  • Proficient with technology and internet-based programs
  • Knowledgeable in rental real estate, including relevant contracts and leases
  • Ability to work with or quickly learn HVAC and security software
  • Skilled in coordinating and overseeing third-party contractors
  • Capable of handling some physical, on-site property management tasks

Additional Information

HOURS WORKED:

This position is 40 hours per week, with occasional travel within the Twin Cities metro area. The role may require response to tenant emergencies during evenings and weekends, though such instances are infrequent.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The role requires the ability to climb ladders and steep stairs, handle occasional emergency repairs or cleanups, inspect HVAC equipment in mechanical rooms and above ceiling grids, and occasionally lift or move up to 10-25 pounds.
