Strengthen Duolingo’s accounting team as our business is growing rapidly. You will work with members of the Accounting team, which is responsible for timely financial reporting and compliance with GAAP, in addition to documenting and testing our related controls and policies. The successful candidate for this position will report to our Director of Accounting and play an instrumental role in building the financial future of the company

You Will...

• Work with our Accounts Payable manager to code invoices and respond to questions from Duos.
• Prepare all wire/ACH bank transfers.
• Assist in our monthly revenue reconciliation process.

You Have...

• Proven knowledge of GAAP, PCAOB, and SEC requirements
• Experience with monthly accrual reporting
• Ability to work independently
• Excellent accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong ability to meet deadlines with high precision
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Based in our Pittsburgh office

Requirements: 

• Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years experience, or equivalent; or Associate’s degree and 4+ years of accounting experience

Exceptional Candidates Will Have...

• Certified Public Accountant
• Currently working for or with a public company
• Proficiency in NetSuite
• Proficiency in Zip
• G Suite familiarity
• Experience at a fast-paced tech startup
• An impressive Duolingo XP or streak!

We invest in and support our Duos! This role is eligible for a robust compensation package of base salary, equity, and Duolingo’s world-class benefits. The starting base salary range for this role is, $63,750 - $124,200. Actual salary may vary based on level, work experience, performance, and other factors evaluated during the hiring process.
