The Audit and Compliance Manager will bring to the E2 team a detailed understanding of developing and maintaining project financials in a complex construction environment. The Audit & Compliance Manager is responsible for overseeing the financial aspects of projects, ensuring that budgets are effectively managed, costs are controlled, and financial risks are identified and mitigated. The role involves working closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to provide accurate cost reporting, forecasting, and analysis throughout the project lifecycle.


Core Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Review\monitor project risk analysis to forecast contingencies. Implement contingency management.
  • Monitor and manage project budgets, ensuring alignment with project objectives. Monitor and control project expenditures, ensuring costs are within approved budgets.
  • Establish and maintain project budgets according to the contracted scope, including tracking and reporting on budget variances. Identify areas of potential cost savings and recommend cost-control measures.
  • Generate regular cost reports, including cost-to-date, cost forecasting, and variance analysis. Present cost information to project stakeholders, highlighting any potential risks or opportunities.
  • Understand the project related scope and contract, participate in resolving contract-related disputes by providing necessary information and support.
  • Work with the Operation team to evaluate and analyze the financial impact of project changes. Identify and submit change orders and update forecasts to reflect any changes in project scope or requirements.
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, procurement teams, and other stakeholders to ensure effective cost management throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure that all financial practices and procedures comply with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop audit scopes, objectives, and procedures and evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of internal controls and recommend improvements.
  • Prepare detailed audit reports, outlining findings, risks, and recommendations.
  • Monitor the implementation of audit recommendations to ensure corrective actions are taken.
  • Conduct regular compliance audits and risk assessments and manage the reporting and documentation of compliance issues and incidents.
  • Monitor compliance with established policies and procedures and enforce disciplinary actions when necessary.
  • Communicate audit findings and compliance issues to senior management and relevant stakeholders.
  • Foster a culture of compliance and ethical behavior within the organization.
  • Coach\Mentor and guide execution staff in contract and cost fundamentals, procedures and guidelines.
  • Communicate through visual reporting & analytics with external stakeholders.
  • Identify and communicate key cost issues to project/construction and operations management in a timely manner to allow corrective action to be implemented
  • Travel:   The individual in this role should be able and willing to travel as required by E2.


Education:
  • BS or AA in Accounting, Finance, Business, Engineering, or related Professional Experience.


Experience:
  • Leadership, coaching and transferring knowledge approach.
  • Spreadsheet and cost performance tracking is a must.
  • In depth knowledge in the contract management aspects.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience with increasing responsibility or equivalent combination of education and experience Resource and cost loaded construction schedule development.
  • Knowledge of Agile Construction Management is highly preferred.
  • Competency with MS Office, Excel, Word, Outlook.
  • Construction/ Telecommunication experience is preferable.

  • Ability to communicate complex information clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.

  • Strategic and has professional demeanor, and ability to interact effectively with managers, employees, vendors, and others
  • Strong organizational, record-keeping and follow-up skills
  • Strong attention to details.
  • Ability to identify and meet customers’ expectations and requirements
  • Must be a self-starter and a problem solver, proactive and an effective team player.
  • Ability to understand and follow standard operating policies and procedures.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, changing priorities as necessary.
  • High ability to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The standard work environment for this position is an indoors business office and construction environment. Ability to use a computer and/or hand tools while sitting or standing for extended periods of time. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee must demonstrate regular and on-time attendance. There could be a requirement of occasional travel by conventional means including aircraft, motor vehicle and the like within the region and to other locations as required. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
