This Opportunity

WSP is currently initiating a search for an Environmental Scientist for our Rocky Hill, Connecticut office. The following locations will also be considered: Shelton, Connecticut. Be involved in projects with our Earth & Environment Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.

Your Impact

• Develop thorough knowledge of standard field sampling procedures for various environmental media (soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, and air)
• Implement environmental sampling plans (sampling and testing)
• Document and record data and observations in a clear and organized manner
• Provide assistance in the analysis, evaluation, and interpretation of hydrologic, geologic, and chemical data obtained during investigations
• Assist in preparing project plans and technical reports related to investigation and remediation activities (boring logs, data tables, geologic cross sections)
• Perform inspection work and compile reports in a timely manner
• Supervise contractors and enforce enforce safe operations in the field

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

• B.S. degree in geology, hydrogeology or Environmental Science.
• 0-1 years experience and must have completed at least one college level hydrogeology course.
• The candidate must have strong computer and writing skills.
• The successful candidate will show an ability to work independently and show a high level of initiative and attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Must successfully complete and pass WSP’s Motor Vehicle screening

Preferred Qualifications:

• M.S. degree in geology, hydrogeology or Environmental Science.
• Proficiency with ESRI’s ArcGIS software.
• OSHA 40-hour certification.
