(Fall 2024-Spring 2025). About the project: https://art.ecu.edu/ourstoryenc/Position Details:Candidate will be responsible for setting up tech equipment and staging area for interviews, testing, operating, and maintaining equipment for oral history collection process, recording and documenting oral history interviews, working with film/video digital file formats and workflow processes, backing up files and working with team members to transfer recorded interview files to the library digital archives team for post-edit.Candidate will also assist with scanning and photographing visual and written artifacts submitted by candidates for the project, uploading visual and written artifacts to library digital repository, and other related tasks to collecting, documenting, and archiving oral histories for this community engagement project.Other tasks may be assigned based on related skills.Our setup/equipment includes:• VIXIA HF G70 camcorder• Tripod with mount• Archive Project Hard drive• Rode mic with Rode mic cable• Lav mic• TASCAM audio Recorder• Ring light• Backdrop (frame & drop)Expectations:-Work as a member of research team consisting of the faculty mentor.-Complete assignments as directed by faculty mentor.-Meet ~once/two-weeks (Day/Time based on candidate and faculty's availability)Specific Tasks:-setting up tech equipment and staging area for interviews-testing, operating, and maintaining equipment for oral history collection process-recording and documenting oral history interviews-working with film/video digital file formats and workflow processes-backing up files and working with team members to transfer recorded interview files to the library digital archives team for post-edit.-scanning, photographing, and documenting visual and written artifacts submitted by candidates.Training with specific equipment can be provided, but expectation is that student is familiar with film/video equipment, processes, and workflow through the academic year (fall 2024 - spring 2025).
