This position is Washington DC based with a focus on TX, IL, FL, NJ, NY, WI, and MI.The Senior Manager, State Government Relations will serve as a critical member of the Washington, D.C. based government relations team, and will report to the Head of State Government Relations.What you will accomplish: Government Relations Strategy: Develop and implement comprehensive government relations strategies aligned with company objectives, with a particular emphasis on ecommerce, tax, privacy, technology, and payment processing.Policy Advocacy: Monitor and analyze legislative and regulatory developments in the Eastern region. Find opportunities and risks and develop advocacy plans to advance interests and address potential challenges.Relationship Building: Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with key individuals, including legislators, governors, attorneys general, policymakers, regulatory agencies, and industry associations. Represent eBay’s interests in meetings, hearings, and other relevant forums.Legislative and Regulatory Monitoring: Track and analyze proposed legislation and regulation. Provide timely updates to internal team members and recommend appropriate actions.Coalition Building: Collaborate with industry peers, trade associations, and other organizations to build coalitions and partnerships that support eBay’s policy objectives.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams to ensure alignment on government relations activities and strategies and compliance.What you will bring:Bachelor’s degree in political science, public policy, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.Minimum of 8-10 years of relevant experience in government relations, legislative affairs, or related roles, with a strong focus on ecommerce, tax, privacy, technology, and payment processing.In-depth knowledge of regional state legislative and regulatory processes.Demonstrated track record of successfully advocating for policy positions and achieving desired outcomes in a complex environment.Strong network of contacts, including policymakers, staff, and relevant agencies.Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex issues in a clear and concise manner.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, leading multiple priorities and maintaining excellent relationships within the business.#LI-LH1Please see the Talent Privacy Notice for information regarding how eBay handles your personal data collected when you use the eBay Careers website or apply for a job with eBay.eBay is an equal opportunity employer.
