We're in this together, sustaining the future of our customers, our company, and our planet.Join a team of passionate thinkers, innovators, and dreamers — and help us connect people and build communities to create economic opportunity for all.About the team and the role: eBay is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our organization as a Senior Manager of US Federal Government Relations, with a focus on privacy, AI, and consumer protection issues.What you will accomplish: The Senior Manager, U.S. Government Relations will serve as a critical member of the Washington, D.C. based government relations team, and will report to the Head of Americas Government Relations.Government Relations Strategy: Develop and implement comprehensive government relations strategies aligned with company objectives, with an emphasis on privacy, AI, and consumer protection issues.Policy Advocacy: Monitor and analyze legislative and regulatory developments at the federal level. Find opportunities and risks and develop advocacy plans to advance interests and address potential challenges.Relationship Building: Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with key individuals, including elected officials, policymakers, regulatory agencies, and industry associations. Represent eBay’s interests in meetings, hearings, and other relevant forums.Legislative and Regulatory Monitoring: Track and analyze proposed legislation and regulation. Provide timely updates to internal team members and recommend appropriate actions.Coalition Building: Collaborate with industry peers, trade associations, and other organizations to build coalitions and partnerships that support eBay’s policy objectives.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams to ensure alignment on government relations activities and strategies and compliance.What you will bring: Bachelor’s degree in political science, public policy, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.Minimum of 8-10 years of relevant experience in government relations, legislative affairs, or related roles. Experience working with House Energy and Commerce Committee or Senate Commerce Committee. Experience in tech, retail, and ecommerce policy a plus.
