Dock Coordinator

Job Characteristics: This is a senior level position. The primary focus of this role is supporting Logistics which may include one or more of the following: Facilitates product shipping, purchasing, warehousing, distribution, forecasting, and/or customer service. May drive forklifts. Updates and maintains inventory control databases. Ensures the freight sorting area is organized and follows the established sorting and stocking guidelines.

Logistics Associate III will proactively work with departmental team leaders and/or managers to develop and implement actions to meet plant goals and deliverables. This will be accomplished by coordinating processes, equipment and people to maintain continuous flow of product and services with zero quality issues that comply with internal and external customer specification.

What You Will Do:

  • Plans/manages dock flow in order to safely and effectively meet outbound shipment and inbound receiving schedules
  • Trains, develops and monitors logistics associates in required duties
  • Performs safety, procedural and housekeeping audits of the logistics areas
  • Identifies safety hazards and implements changes necessary to mitigate hazards
  • Proactively communicates with customer service, management, production and maintenance department personnel to meet departmental and plant objectives
  • Accurately processes necessary transactions related to labor reporting and record keeping
  • Performs daily administrative tasks involved with maintaining inventory accuracy in SAP and additional systems
  • Back-up forklift operator for shipping and receiving operations as labor crewing and demand dictates (this is a “working” coordinator position)

Position Details:

  • Plant location: McDonough, Ga. Warehouse
  • Work week and shift: Monday - Thursday 11 P.M. - 7 A.M.
  • Compensation package offered: $24.00 per hour

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • A minimum of 2+ of Ecolab experience in logistics (shipping and receiving) or 5+ years of logistics experience in a related industry
  • Computer literacy with Warehouse Management Systems and Microsoft (Word, Excel & Outlook)
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, working in a high volume, high SKU count environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Experience in coaching and mentoring of staff.

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift/carry 50lbs.
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen and physical exam.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree
  • Knowledge of ISO, DOT and OSHA standards
  • Experience utilizing SAP and/or other WMS.
  • Willingness to assume new responsibilities and activities for personal and professional development.
  • Good time management skills
