We are seeking an Account Executive to join our growing Healthcare team! Health-related PR experience preferred.
Edelman’s Health Sector team provides a wide array of communications services to a diversified portfolio of healthcare clients including major pharmaceutical companies, hospitals and providers, health insurers, associations, life sciences companies, and government and public health organizations. By employing innovative and thoughtful strategies, the Health Sector team develops integrated corporate reputation, public affairs, advocacy, and brand campaigns that help our clients promote their brands and policy positions, protect their reputations and license to operate, and influence public perceptions and policy outcomes.
The Account Executive will have the ability to learn and deploy a wide variety of communications skills to a single, but diversified, industry that is of fundamental importance to individuals, governments, and society at large. Furthermore, employees will hone their communication skills alongside colleagues who have deep expertise at the intersection of healthcare and public relations.

Responsibilities:

    • Contribute to creation of communications plans and materials that meet client objectives, including strong writing and research for deliverables, such as client email communications, key messaging documents, FAQs, PPT decks, social media content/copy, and more
    • Demonstrate ownership over client and internal knowledge management/notes, coordinating client touchpoints, setting agendas, providing action-oriented recaps, proactive project tracking, and monthly activity reports; actively participate in client and internal meetings
    • Submit relevant materials into client-owned Veeva portal for Medical, Legal, Regulatory review; includes attending client review meetings and following established protocols
    • Demonstrate attention to detail in proof reading, desk side research and development of materials for clients
    • Ability to work within an integrated team and serve as the centralized knowledge manager to direct planning, activity, and requests from clients and internal teams
    • Manage multiple deliverables across projects from conception to completion, by anticipating challenges and ensuring deadline and budget/time management adherence
    • Build relationships with clients and colleague at all levels, including proactive problem solving, in-person and virtual presentations, and day-to-day activity/project management
    • Consistently produce high quality internal and external communications content often under tight timelines and with competing priorities
    • Demonstrate tactical proficiency in integrated communications and marketing, including working with subject matter expert teams to create and drive PR, Comms and Marketing plans and owning monitoring and research needs to identify and draft flags of relevant news and updates
    • Commit to continuous learning and improvement of leadership skills; set and pursue stretch goals
    • Possess a solid understanding and interest of the current healthcare landscape and topical issues
    • Supervise staff junior to you by motivating, coaching and consistently providing feedback
    • Aid in planning and new business processes including idea contribution, research and proposal preparation
    • Demonstrate behaviors consistent with Edelman’s values (Quality, Integrity, Respect, Entrepreneurial Spirit, Mutual Benefits) and Code of Ethics and Business Conduct

Basic Qualifications:

    • At least 1 year of relevant experience in public relations and/or related fields including research, advertising, management consulting, media and publishing
    • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
    • Solid grasp of all basic integrated communications and marketing tools and how they are used as well as solid writing, editing, and research skills

Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience working in Healthcare or with Healthcare clients
    • Ability to develop relationships with clients and internal teams and apply experience and initiative in developing integrated communications and marketing strategies
$42,000 - $62,000 a year
An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, any contractual agreements, and business or organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of DJEH’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, a Paid Time Off policy, and region-specific benefits.
