As a Senior Tax Specialist on the Advanced Planning Strategies team, you’ll play a pivotal role by supporting tax planning efforts through tax research and analysis.
In addition to an earnest desire to help people, we are looking for the ideal candidate to complement the team’s existing talents. For this Senior Tax Specialist role, we are seeking a candidate with proven financial planning and tax planning experience to help advance EFE’s tax planning offering. Responsibilities:
- Research tax issues and complete analyses to support complex tax planning cases
- Work with planners and clients to help research and advise on tax implications, liabilities and strategies as they related to a clients’ financial plan
- Keep current with accounting and tax issues and legislative changes
- Collaborate on internal tax planning education initiatives
- Communicate effectively and responsively to inquiries from clients, planners and corporate partners
Requirements:
- Holds a bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting or finance; CPA or EA or must obtain within 3 months of employment
- 4+ years public accounting experience in tax compliance and consultation (national or regional firm preferred); experience with a registered investment advisor or wealth management firm preferred
- CFP®/ChFP® or able to obtain within 3 months of employment
- In-depth knowledge of federal and state laws, regulations, and deadlines
- Experience with tax planning software (Holistiplan and CCH Tax Planning preferred)
- Exceptional communication and organization skills, including time management and critical thinking
Edelman Financial Engines takes a market-based approach to pay. The expected base salary range for this role nationally is $75,000 - $100,000. However, final base pay will be carefully determined based on several factors, including responsibilities, job-related skills, relevant experience, geographic location, and market conditions. Additionally, this role may be eligible for other forms of compensation and benefits, such as a discretionary bonus, health, dental and other wellness plans, and 401(k) contributions.
