About the Role:

Join Credible, an innovative consumer fintech company, as our new Editorial Director / Head of Content. We are dedicated to empowering individuals to make informed financial decisions through personalized loan and insurance options. As the Editorial Director, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing our content strategy across digital channels, establishing our brand as a trusted thought leader in the fintech industry.

We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Editorial Director / Head of Content to lead a team of experienced editors as they publish content that helps consumers make better financial decisions, and collaborate with our SEO team to ensure we drive high-intent organic traffic to our loans and insurance marketplace. This is a senior leadership role that requires a strategic mindset, exceptional editorial skills, and a deep understanding of financial technology and consumer finance. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of and deep experience publishing premium financial content, collaborating with SEO teams, and building, managing, and leading content teams.

Responsibilities:

Content Strategy and Editorial Direction:

• Develop and execute a comprehensive content strategy aligned with marketing and business objectives.
• Identify content gaps and opportunities to position us as a leading source in the fintech industry.
• Uphold an editorial voice and tone resonating with our audience.
• Oversee high-quality content creation, including articles, blog posts, videos, infographics, etc.
• Ensure accuracy, compliance, and adherence to brand guidelines.
• Occasionally participate in content editing, fact-checking, and reviews.
• Implement effective content distribution strategies to drive engagement.
• Collaborate with the marketing team for lead generation and customer acquisition.
• Collaborate with our SEO team to optimize content for search engines and drive high-intent traffic to Credible.

Team Leadership and Management:

• Lead, inspire, and guide a growing team of editors, writers, and freelancers.
• Hire, onboard, and train new team members effectively.
• Set performance goals and conduct regular evaluations.
• Report regularly to leadership on progress and key performance indicators.

Cost Optimization and Revenue Analysis:

• Identify cost-effective content creation solutions without compromising quality.
• Monitor content production costs and propose strategies to maximize ROI.
• Analyze revenue data to adjust content performance and targets.

Partnerships and Collaboration:

• Guide external media partners to implement best practices.
• Lead and oversee quarterly projects for your team.

Innovation and Knowledge Expansion:

• Stay updated with fintech and consumer finance trends.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices.
• Monitor emerging content marketing trends and innovate accordingly.
• Continually expand personal finance knowledge.

Qualifications:

• 7+ years of experience in editing or leading editorial strategies.
• 5+ years of experience in personal finance content.
• 5+ years of experience in team management.
• Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Business, Finance, or related field preferred.
• Deep experience in content strategy and financial publishing landscape.
• Commitment to content quality and integrity.
• Ability to own day-to-day and long-term content strategy.
