What you’ll do:
In this role, you'll work within the Legal, Privacy & Compliance team, and closely partner Product and Engineering teams and other key stakeholders to maintain Flatiron’s electronic health record (EHR) software certification under the Office of the National Coordinator of Health IT (ONC) Certification Program. Core responsibilities include:
- Managing and monitoring ongoing compliance with the Conditions and Maintenance of Certification requirements through ONC’s quarterly attestation process, including collaboration and communication with, and required regulatory submissions to, Flatiron’s ONC Authorized Certification Body. This also includes managing ad hoc incidents or corrective action plans that may impact ongoing compliance, as needed.
- Translating ONC’s regulatory requirements to relevant and applicable software requirements for development teams; providing recommendations and regulatory signoff to ensure product functionality does not deviate from such requirements
- Monitoring the status of other relevant regulations/legislation (e.g. MIPS) that overlap with or may otherwise impact certification, compliance or design of Flatiron’s suite of products, and make recommendations accordingly.
- Partnering with Compliance to create and maintain ONC-related internal educational materials and policies for Flatiron including providing continuous ONC education for relevant product and engineering teams
As needed, the role will also support Flatiron’s overall regulatory compliance which may include:
- Providing internal analysis and recommendations of other regulatory matters (e.g. MIPS, OCF)
- Managing relevant regulatory internal and external education programs
- Building working relationships in relevant regulatory communities/industries, leveraging when appropriate to inform decision making
Who You Are:
- You have 5+ years of experience interpreting healthcare regulations and policies for Healthcare IT, including
- Experience working with and evaluating compliance of healthcare EHR software
- Experience with software development process
- Experience translating regulatory requirements into software requirements in partnership with product and engineering teams
- Experience with building, implementing, and optimizing regulatory programs ideally in more than one Healthcare IT organization
- You have deep knowledge of the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC)’s certification requirements, including the Cures Act
- You have direct experience managing regulatory incidents, audits and corrective action plans
- You have the ability to work within cross-functional teams and own multiple projects simultaneously
- You have structured communication skills tailored to both product and engineering teams and leadership, as well as extraordinary interpersonal skills and ability to provide sound, clear and succinct regulatory advice and analysis to business teams in both verbal and written forms
- You have the ability to multitask, work under tight time pressures, prioritize work, and react quickly to changing business needs and You have a demonstrated track record of being a team-player and working collaboratively
- You have the ability to maintain an independent and objective perspective while developing and maintaining a strong partnership with the client organizations
- You are an intellectually nimble thinker and highly adaptable

Extra Credit
- You have the ability to work in the Flatiron Health offices in New York, NY (preferred, not required)
- You have CMS regulatory knowledge (e.g. MIPS, OCM, OCF)
- You have a nackground in Software Engineering or Product Management
- You are a Certified Professional Compliance Officer - CPCO Certification
- You are a Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC)®
