Job Description:
Position Summary:
- We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced EHS Coordinator to join our team temporarily.
- As the EHS Coordinator, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining our environmental, health, and safety programs to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and promote a safe working environment for our employees.
- The successful candidate will possess strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills, along with a thorough understanding of EHS principles and best practices within a manufacturing setting.
Responsibilities:
EHS Compliance:
- Monitor and ensure compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations.
- Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies, procedures, and programs in accordance with applicable regulations and industry standards.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards, non-compliance issues, and opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare reports and documentation required for regulatory agencies, permits, and internal purposes.
Risk Assessment and Mitigation:
- Conduct risk assessments and job hazard analyses to identify and evaluate potential risks in the workplace.
- Develop and implement measures to mitigate risks and ensure a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address and resolve EHS-related concerns and issues.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, and develop corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence.
Training and Education:
- Develop and deliver EHS training programs for employees, contractors, and visitors to promote awareness and compliance with EHS policies and procedures including safety orientation for new hires.
- Coordinate and facilitate safety meetings, toolbox talks, and other EHS-related training sessions.
- Provide guidance and support to employees on EHS matters, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe work practices.
Environmental Management:
- Monitor and track environmental performance indicators, such as energy consumption, waste generation, and emissions.
- Assist in the development and implementation of environmental management systems.
- Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials and waste.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost reductions, and efficiency enhancements in EHS programs.
- Stay updated with changes in EHS regulations, best practices, and emerging trends, and recommend necessary modifications to existing programs.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field preferred.
- Additional certifications (e.g., Certified Safety Professional, Certified Industrial Hygienist) are preferred.
- Proven experience (3-5 years) in EHS coordination or a similar role within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local EHS regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and other relevant standards.
- Excellent understanding of risk assessment methodologies and the ability to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to interact with employees at all levels of the organization and external stakeholders.
- Proficient in conducting EHS training sessions and developing educational materials.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in using EHS management software and other relevant tools.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
