EHS Intern

BSI Consulting Services has an exciting Summer 2023 Internship opportunity with a focus on general Environmental Health & Safety. The ideal candidate will preferably have some interest in the dynamic world of consulting. This role will participate, as directed, in Environmental, Health & Safety projects as a member of a consulting project team, design, development, implementation, and delivery of a wide variety of EHS solutions as a technical contributor. In this role you will be supporting various consulting projects. Projects are variable and challenging.

Responsibilities may include:

Health and safety code compliance
Developing and delivering EHS/Occupational Health and Safety programs and training
EHS assessments/general program compliance audits
Regulatory compliance
Occupational safety surveys/inspections
Environmental issues (air, wastewater, hazardous waste)
ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems program development
Industrial hygiene (IAQ, investigations, sampling, monitoring, assessments)
Desire and interest to work in construction safety
Assisting in preventing chemical and physical hazards that could be present, by performing IH monitoring, sampling and assessment of air, water, noise, chemicals, EMF and/or other materials.
Assisting in the investigation of accidents, injuries, incidents, and complaints or concerns regarding hazards or uncomfortable conditions in the workplace, including interviewing employees.
Providing EHS program compliance support by maintaining EHS compliance material and logs (e.g. permits, fees, OSHA logs, training records).
Compiling data and providing input to client reports and programs.

Experience & Education Requirements:

Working towards undergraduate degree preferably in a science or engineering related field or equivalent professional experience.
Experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Familiar with general EHS issues and programs based on individual federal, state, and local regulations.
- Assembling/authoring portions of technical reports on EHS topics.
