EHS Specialist

Job Description:

Not Remote - report to worksite/office

Candidate Profile:

  • A safety and health professional with a track record of creating increased awareness, heightened standards, and improved performance at a major global corporation.
  • The ideal candidate will have a high level of market/customer sensitivity, leadership skills, as well as interpersonal characteristics reflecting uncompromising integrity, a results-orientation, a collaborative style, a commitment to talent development, and a highly positive attitude.

Other relevant qualifications include:

  • Experience Proven capability leading and managing comprehensive safety and health programs in a relevant, multinational service and manufacturing environment.
  • A strong business perspective that includes the ability to work with all levels of executives and operational associates.
  • An excellent understanding of laws, regulations and governance requirements related to safety and occupational health.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement new strategic initiatives.
  • Ability to work in a matrixed, team oriented environment.
  • A minimum of 10 years experience with at least 5 in a management role and corporate experience preferred; a B.Sc. degree in safety management, engineering, or related field.

Relevant responsibilities include:

  • Strategic Ensure safety and health strategies and programs at the corporate level and through the businesses are well-aligned with business strategies.
  • Maintain, revise or develop enterprise standards for protection of employees safety and public safety in the communities where the company operates.
  • Provide visibility of safety progress, performance, and issues to the executive leadership team (e.g., monthly and quarterly performance reporting).
  • Lead the enterprise EHS data capture and reporting efforts.
  • Lead the driver safety efforts for the company in collaboration with the Fleet organization and business EHS professionals.
  • In conjunction with the Human Resources organization, identify opportunities to implement and improve company wellness efforts.
  • Work to foster an atmosphere of openness and information sharing in order to encourage a culture of high awareness, transparency and diligence with respect to safety and health matters.
  • Operational Provide leadership and direction for the continuous improvement of Tycos safety and health programs, including the core management system, safety training and driver safety.
  • Direct the continued development, implementation, and management of appropriate tools, systems (e.g., MyTycoEHS), monitoring and reporting procedures.
  • Quantify and measure progress on safety performance and employee well-being.
  • Ensure the adequacy of response programs for managing issues of crisis relative to safety matters.
  • Leadership Characteristics Ability to advocate and gain trust at all levels of an organization.
  • Outstanding technical and team development capabilities, exemplified by a track record of leading, coaching and developing superior safety professionals.
  • Polished presenter who is credible and self-assured; strong technical skills with the ability to explain complex issues and requirements in an easily understood manner.
  • High level of energy and drive, action oriented.

Job Type: Contract

Salary: $50.00 - $53.00 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Philadelphia, PA 19104: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Experience:

  • EHS: 1 year (Preferred)
