About You

We are looking for someone who can wear two hats – the technical expert and the strategic consultant – showing both advanced technical acumen and a strong interest in business strategy.

Requirements:

You will have hands-on experience in building scalable backend solutions autonomously. You are a subject matter expert in backend development and related technologies on cloud platforms. You’ll ideally have worked across multiple projects end-to-end and have experience partnering with data scientists or other senior stakeholders, both internally and client-side. You’re looking for the next step and the opportunity to work in a dynamic and growing team.

·        Experience building data products incrementally and integrating and managing datasets from multiple sources

·        Hands-on experience in key backend technologies, including but not limited to Python, Java, SQL, and cloud services

·        Experience working with different file formats and database management systems including NoSQL databases

·        Conceptual understanding of data management including governance processes and platforms, data visualization, and transformation in data warehouses or data lakes

·        Ability to apply analytical and innovative thought processes in creating market-ready backend capabilities

Great to have:

·        Cloud certification is a plus (although there are opportunities to achieve certification once you’re with us)

·        Experience building/operating highly available, distributed backend systems for Data Science or BI teams

·        Experience with ML pipelines or a good conceptual understanding of them

·        Experience providing technical leadership and mentoring other engineers on best practices in backend development

Transversal Skills

People are at the centre of who we are at Ekimetrics, so as well as excellent technical skills, it’s important that you also have the following:

·        Excellent communication skills – especially translating complex technical findings into insights and stories for stakeholders (internal and external)

·        A demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple projects

·        An ability to work autonomously and be self-motivated
