RHI Magnesita is seeking a dynamic hands-on Electrical Controls Engineer to work out of our York, PA Plant.

The Engineer will be responsible for developing and managing the electrical and controls portion of projects to specify, design, install, and upgrade equipment to be used in the manufacturing facility. Projects may include power distribution, controls circuits, automation, and programming.

This position will also be responsible for providing technical and hands-on assistance to the maintenance and production departments to maintain and improve our manufacturing equipment.

The Electrical Engineer’s tasks include:

Electrical Design

• Working with stakeholders to develop project solutions, specifications, scopes, and estimates
• Industrial electrical systems including sizing and circuit protection
• Motor control systems
• Control systems incorporating programmable logic controllers, HMIs, hard-wired circuits, process sensors, actuators, and other control devices
• Control panels
• Automated equipment

Programming

• PLC – ladder logic, sequential charts, and structured text
• HMI – graphics and scripting
• PC configuration and support, including networking and industrial communications

Project Management

• Responsible for project organization, budgets, timelines, and reporting
• Obtain bids for equipment and installation
• Direct installation and start-up tasks
• Project commissioning
• Project documentation

Technical Support

• Providing technical support to maintain and improve production operations
• Assisting maintenance professionals with troubleshooting equipment problems

About you

Do you have:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering required
• 5+ years of experience in industrial electrical engineering
• Proven ability to understand and develop electrical circuit drawings and schematics
• Experience with AutoCAD software
• Hands-on experience in industrial electrical and technical support
• PLC and HMI programming experience
• Project design and project management experience
• Experience with techniques of electrical system construction and installation
