Electrical Maintenance Engineer - job 1 of 2

Primary Purpose:

Primary responsibility is to apply the principals and practical application of electrical engineering in the design, manufacturing, maintenance, troubleshooting, reliability, and continuous improvement of the process to meet departmental goals and future business requirements.

  • Provide leadership and technical solutions to ensure the highest standards for Environmental, Health and Safety are achieved.
  • Provide technical support to maintenance and operations to improve equipment uptime, capability, reliability, and throughput.
  • Mentor supervisors, craft, and operation leaders to improve the team’s overall understanding of the electrical systems in the department.
  • Provide technical ownership of manufacturing equipment and systems

Leadership Skills

  • The ability to communicate effectively at every level of the organization is critical in both written and oral formats.  Emphasis is placed on two-way communication with maintenance crafts and production operators.
  • Demonstrate the ability to function in a team-oriented environment as a leader or team member.
  • Ability to manage and supervise craft employees and contractors.

Technical Skills

Technical competency requirements will depend on a specific position, but in general:

-   Engineering Fundamentals (BSEET or BSEE)

3 to 7 years of experience

-   Assessing and reporting safety hazards associated with low to medium voltage equipment

-   Preferred knowledge and troubleshooting skills of overhead and gantry cranes

-   Troubleshooting electrical systems, controls, drives, DC/AC control systems, and 13.8 KV/480 KV power systems

-   PLC programming (ex. Allen Bradley, Modicon)

-   Experienced with frequency drives, combustion systems, and instrumentation control.

-   Familiar with National Electrical Code, including NFPA70E

-   Estimate maintenance/project cost and accurate timelines

  • Willingness to acquire new technical and leadership skills and share existing knowledge with colleagues.
  • Work with immediate supervisor to identify your individual development and training needs to enhance personal skills, achieve success in your current assignment, prepare for future assignments, etc.
  • Keep current with the latest equipment, processes, and procedures as they relate to your position and utilize that information to meet department objectives

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $110,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Gallipolis, OH: Reliably commute or willing to relocate with an employer-provided relocation package (Required)
