The Facilities department is seeking a Facilities Electrician to support Teradyne's corporate headquarters located in North Reading, MA. Candidate must be capable of performing a variety of electrical trade functions; installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment, building lighting, motor controls, cable installations and specialty work (shielding, grounding, panel balancing).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work with design, manufacturing, and engineering groups on evolving facility requirements to ensure smooth 24x7 operation
  • Plan the layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
  • Perform facility inspections and report on condition affecting operations
  • Plan and perform diversified service requests in connection with the general building and equipment maintenance and repair work.
  • Prepare and submit summary reports of conditions in buildings and recommend actions to be taken
  • Review and understand equipment and methods of operation, BMS system, fire/life safety, and other systems
  • Comply with all safety standards and regulations of the National Electrical Code
  • Maintain compliance to City, County, State ordinances and codes
  • Support afterhours facility operational needs and activities as required including potential emergency response
  • Attend training sessions and seminars as needed to develop professional knowledge
  • Other facility related assigned tasks as requested.


Qualifications

  • High School diploma or higher
  • Formal accredited apprenticeship or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • 2+ years of facility management &/or construction related experience
  • Strong electrical background
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Communicates effectively both orally and writing
  • Maintain detailed and accurate reports
  • Establish and maintain a good working relationship with contractors & vendors
  • Must be a self-starter, proactive, flexible
