Job Description Summary

Job Overview:
In this role, you will work closely with a team of 8-15 people who are responsible for enhancing, evolving, and supporting large on-premise highly-available Electricity Market Management System (MMS). The team includes power systems, database, software, and optimization engineers.
As an Electricity Market Optimization Software Engineer, you will contribute to advanced Power Systems Application software development, testing, integration and tuning to meet project/product commitments. The projects mainly consist of developing power system features for Electric Utilities, Independent System Operators (ISOs) and Transmission System Operators (TSOs).

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

In this role, you will:

  • Contribute to electricity market application development and ensure software delivery is on schedule, within budget and meets or exceeds customer expectations
  • Promote and demonstrate best practices and high-quality in software development processes
  • Write documents such as design notes, testing procedures, etc.
  • Provide regular reports to the group manager regarding the status of your assigned tasks
  • Work with customer throughout the project life cycle to ensure the software meets customer’s quality standards and functional requirements.
  • Participate in testing of the integrated system. Identify the need for changes whether they are defects or new enhancements
  • Interact with Product Development Team, Customers, Solution Providers (Partner / Integrators), and other cross-functional teams as required.
  • Effectively apply standard execution methodologies and processes.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering with thesis or related work in power systems.
  • Academic courses or experience in Electricity Wholesale Markets.
  • Academic courses or experience in Power System Optimization.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. GE may agree to sponsor an individual for an employment visa now or in the future if there is a shortage of individuals with particular skills.
  • Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen
  • Must be willing to travel 10-20% of the time
  • Must be willing to work out of an office located in Bothell, WA if the need arises.

The [salary/hourly pay] range for this position is [75,200-112,800]. The specific [salary/hourly rate] offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for [a performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity].
