As part of the Electrification Team at Visteon, our goal is to support the electrification revolution of our customers. As we are expanding the team, we are looking for a Electrification Diagnostic Technical Specialist professional.

The Role

To lead development and implementation of diagnostic strategies for the electrification features for both BMS and Power Electronic platforms. The candidate will be responsible for designing and developing robust diagnostic strategies and ensure to meet Functional Safety and compliance to onboard diagnostics. We are looking for a candidate that has good understanding of safety critical embedded controller software development who can work with platform development teams, hardware teams and silicon vendors to define functional and performance diagnostics.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Lead the development of robust diagnostic solutions and strategies for the electrification programs.
• Lead the development of technical requirements, specifications for electrification programs including specifying hardware functional requirements to meet vehicle level diagnostics.
• Lead the definition of functional objectives based on the Functional Safety and other requirements to drive robust diagnostic solutions.
• Manage cross functional engineering teams to design and implement the diagnostics including robust monitoring of performance, reliability and fault metrics.
• Manage cross functional teams to define diagnostic strategies to meet safety critical vehicle systems including ISO26262 standards.
• Own and manage diagnostic development plan for electrification programs.
• Lead diagnostic strategy development for new customer project proposals by developing innovative concepts and solutions to enhance the features and diagnostics services.
• Lead verification and validation to ensure compliance to functional safety and onboard diagnostics.
• Work closely with silicon vendors to define diagnostic requirements.
• Lead internal team development to grow diagnostic and regulatory expertise.
• Participate in design reviews and give feedback.

The Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering in the area of Electrical, Computer Science or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience in vehicle diagnostics development, calibration.
• Experience working on software controls development for Electrification.
• Experience developing embedded real-time safety critical software systems.
• Experience with Agile software development, change and configuration management.
• Experience in developing software to meet Functional Safety.
• Experience with automotive communication protocols such as CAN, SPI, LIN. Automotive Ethernet is a plus.
