About the Role:


The Naturium Product Development Assistant Manager will report directly to the VP of Product Development and will support in all phases of product development and marketing initiatives. This role will be responsible for managing all administrative, operational, technical, and creative needs related to product development.


Responsibilities:


- Manage the full formula development cycle from conception to launch, with a formula focus on clinically proven key ingredients

- Manage all day-to-day formula development operations: supplies, sample organization, submission distribution, shipping, and competitive shopping

- Own process to provide formula submissions to internal and external partners, track evaluations and relay feedback to the team, & communicate feedback in a timely manner to 3rd party contract manufacturers

- Communicate formula status/updates in weekly product development meeting

- Manage scheduling and preparation for bi-monthly innovation meeting

- Assist VP of PD in weekly R&D meetings, preparing agendas and recording detailed notes

- Manage vendor communications & requests

- Manage communication with cross-functional team members relating to marketing, regulatory, operations, packaging and creative

- Take the lead and create internal formula development profiles, marketing/brand product briefs, and external briefs (for ex., lab briefs)

- Manage and track safety and clinical testing samples, ensuring their receipt to third party testing facilities, and working to ensure study start dates/study execution, and receipt of final reports

- Manage and track regulatory documentation, working to ensure PIFs (product information files) are complete in a timely manner, following formula approvals

- Audit and review existing PIFs, ensuring files are complete with documentation needed for formula ownership

- Manage production & lab standards

- Manage bulk approvals for newness/innovation & on-going business

- Manage internal documents, spreadsheets and maintain all up-to-date information

- Oversee and track project milestones and ensure deadlines are met

- Manage copy development process, working to help create master copy worksheets

- Manage artwork review, routing, & release process

- Lead trend reports, market research, ingredient innovations and competitive analysis

- Participate in brainstorms and conception ideation

- Other duties may be assigned as required

 

Requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree

- 3+ years experience in new product and packaging development

- Experienced in beauty, skincare and/or regulatory

- Works well in a fast paced, start-up environment

- Highly organized and detail oriented

- Creative problem solver

- Proactive, self-starter with a high sense of urgency

- Passionate about the beauty industry

- Strong verbal and written communication

- Works well cross functionally and productive in a work from home environment

- Timeline management skills

- Proficient in Google Workspace/Excel/Microsoft applications


$70,000 - $85,000 a year
