Social Media Coordinator

At Ello, our mission is to maximize the potential of all children. Our first product is an AI-powered reading coach that listens and engages with children as they read out loud from books. Founded by a team of experts in education, childhood development, and artificial intelligence, Ello is scaling the impact of 1:1 teaching using AI, starting with learning how to read. Together, we believe we can close literacy and educational gaps around the world. 

About the role

We are seeking a Social Media Coordinator to play a crucial role in managing and expanding our social media presence, promoting our brand, and working closely with our team of Community Engagement Ambassadors in DC to drive local engagement for Ello. This role is ideal for someone who is creative, social media savvy, and loves editing and putting together a good story.

Ello is a public benefit corporation, and our team is motivated by the mission of helping all children succeed. An ideal candidate will feel compelled by that mission and have a passionate desire to grow Ello’s footprint and help close the literacy gap. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and curate engaging content that resonates with parents for Ello’s social media channels (including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and more)

  • Develop and execute social media strategies that support and amplify the outreach activities of our community engagement campaigns in DC; this includes helping to organize and document those evening and weekend events throughout the summer

  • Act as a voice of Ello on social media: responding to user comments, fostering community interactions, and increasing brand visibility and engagement overall

  • Analyze and report on social media performance to provide insights and data-driven recommendations to optimize our campaigns

  • Collaborate with our marketing team to ensure brand consistency and to coordinate promotional activities and events

Qualifications

  • Strong experience with social media platforms and digital marketing tools

  • Creative thinking with the ability to translate ideas into compelling digital content

  • Sharp attention to detail and proven editing prowess to distill hours of footage into a cohesive story or campaign

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Experience with graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Figma, or Adobe Creative Suite) is preferred

  • Familiarity with analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Facebook Insights) to analyze and leverage user engagement data
