Buyer IGreat Opportunity!Company ProfileCompany manufactures custom automated and semi-automated wet benches, wet process systems and automated chemical delivery systems.What's in it for you?Elwood Professional associates are eligible for a comprehensive and competitive benefits package plus an exclusive savings program, including Medical/Vision/Dental/Rx plans, Holiday Pay, Teladoc (online care), and more!Buyer I Details:• Contract to Hire position• $25.00 /hour• First Shift (Monday through Thursday)• Buyer I is responsible for Supply Chain operations to ensure materials, equipment and supplies are sourced, procured, delivered, warehoused, and inventoried.• Procure all materials for equipment build requirements, based on system requirements.• Negotiate price, availability, and delivery schedules for all strategic material.• Ensure that all purchase planning data is accurately input into ERP/Planning system.• Ensure inventory levels and part availability are optimized.• Ensure on time delivery of purchase orders.• Negotiate pricing, lead time and inventory positions with Strategic Suppliers to minimize total MEI cost.• Based on input from materials, engineering, and sales, ensure all new materials/tools/equipment are properly sourced.• Coordinate activities involved with procuring goods and services, such as raw materials, equipment, tools, parts, and supplies.• Confers with vendors to obtain product or service information, such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.• May work directly in support of operations and in collaboration with department managers, sales, engineering, and manufacturing.• Estimates values according to knowledge of market price and determines method of procurement, such as direct purchase or bid.• Prepares bid specifications, receive bids and make purchases of commodities or goods where the financial impact is great.• Works out remedies for defective or unacceptable goods (NCR’s, RMA’s) or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors and others.• Ensure that all Purchase & Work Orders are entered in a timely and correctly to drive Operations and Suppliers to meet our customer schedules.Buyer I Qualifications:• Bachelor’s degree in Business or 3 years applicable experience and 1 year proven experience buying and sourcing materials in a Technical environment.• Ability to use Microsoft Office Applications including Excel.• Strong organizational, record keeping, and time management skills.• Exhibit a professional appearance and demeanor with vendors, and other employees.• Excellent customer service and negotiation/influential skills.We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and celebrate diversity at all levels of our organization.Our commitment to you: Real People.
