Email Marketing Specialist

We are seeking an experienced and talented Email Marketing Specialist to oversee all aspects of RMH-NY’s email marketing strategies. The ideal candidate will have a solid track record of success in creating and executing email campaigns that achieve revenue goals, brand building and donor engagement objectives.

This hands-on and highly visible position will be an integral partner in RMH-NY’s Fundraising strategies. The role reports to the Director of Digital Growth.

The salary range for this role is 80K-100K. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM with some flexibility for evenings and weekends as needed.


Role/Responsibilities

  • Produce and execute all email campaigns, including; concepting, copywriting, build, asset coordination, QA, and scheduling.
  • Creating effective email fundraising campaigns that drive donor acquisition, retention, and upgrade.
  • Optimize email campaigns for maximum performance, including A/B testing subject lines, content, and calls-to-action to continuously improve all relevant KPIs.
  • Provide regular email campaign performance reports that include opens, clicks, conversions, revenue, revenue lift, unsubscribes, etc. Adjust strategies based on analysis to achieve both revenue growth and engagement goals.
  • Manage and grow organizational email list, control email frequency and touchpoints to minimize database churn, and maintain data hygiene standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Development, Marketing, and Communications, to align email marketing efforts with overall organizational goals and revenue objectives.
  • Manage and maintain Email Marketing Calendar and ensure alignment with revenue goals, organizational priorities, and internal stakeholders.
  • Perform render testing across devices, email clients, and ISPs to ensure that emails are rendering correctly for the majority of the subscriber base.
  • Support various strategic programs via manual and triggered campaigns across the constituents’ lifecycle including prospecting, win-back, nurturing, post-donation, retention, surveys, and transactional emails.
  • Build effective target audiences and segments for every message to drive engagement and revenue performance against KPI goals.
  • Stay up to date with the latest trends, best practices, and technologies in email marketing and fundraising. Make recommendations for incorporating new strategies or tools into our email marketing and fundraising efforts.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable email marketing regulations and best practices.
  • Act as product specialist and technical lead of the Email Marketing platform soon to be Marketing Cloud.
  • Support RMH-NY through its migration into Salesforce NPSP and Marketing Cloud

Qualifications & Competencies

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Email Marketing Specialist or Digital Marketing Specialist with demonstrable experience in creating and scheduling emails, marketing automation, personalization and lead nurturing. (Experience in Marketing Cloud a plus)
  • Expertise in list segmentation, donor journeys, monthly giving, and upgrade strategies for email revenue growth
  • Ability to create and customize email templates, design responsive emails, and troubleshoot coding-related issues.
  • Functional understanding of HTML, CSS, and AMPscript
  • Experience with A/B testing and email performance analytics.
  • Knowledge of email regulations, best practices, and compliance both in the US and internationally in various regulatory regimes (e.g., GDPR or CASL).
  • Familiarity with pertinent automation and performance evaluation software.
  • Knowledge of SEO/SEM and Google Analytics
  • Exceptional attention to detail

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple projects and deadlines.

  • This job is located in the same facility where RMH-NY provides temporary accommodations to pediatric patients and their families while the patients are undergoing active medical treatment at area hospitals. For some RMH-NY guests, medical treatment may include radiation therapy. While radiation therapy is never administered at RMH-NY, there is the potential for some radioactive material to be present in guests who have undergone radiation therapy. Based on radiation measurements performed throughout RMH-NY, it is not expected that individuals working at RMH will receive radiation doses that would exceed the general public limit (100 millirem per year).
  • The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud. Noise levels often increase with families and children who have temporary residence in the building as well as guests and musical performers for special events as well as mechanical equipment
  • Some weekends and evening hours may be necessary for this job
