What does the job entail?

Job Description:

  • Collaborate with the Sales Institutional Solutions Manager in defining the commercial strategy for the Sales Institutional Solutions business and setting the unit business plan, budget and financial forecast taking into account the market drivers and investors’ appetite in the region under his/ her responsibility.
  • Interact permanently with the clients, organising periodic visits together with different Global Markets units (as Strategy, and Syndication). Reinforce BBVA´s relationship with the clients and identifying new business opportunities
  • Originate proactively commercial opportunities with institutional clients in the region under his/ her responsibility, being directly responsible of managing a specific clients’ portfolio. Offer tailor-made investment and hedging solutions to satisfy the client needs. Provide a specialized advisory service to the clients about ad-hoc solutions taking into account market prices and flows, offering them the most suitable investment opportunities considering their bond portfolio exposure (in terms of rating, maturities, industry, etc.) Offer tailor-made investment and hedging solutions to the clients.
  • Establish client relationships, providing them with ad-hoc GM product´s recommendations to satisfy their hedging and/ or investment needs.
  • Align strategically with the Trading, Structuring and Syndication desks in order to reinforce BBVA GM product trading and structured product development capabilities. Boost the coordination with the Strategy unit, to leverage on the BBVA research capabilities to offer an added value services to the customers.
  • Interact with the Risk unit for negotiating the operations and/ or credit lines approval. Support his/ her team in the dialogue with Risk, as needed
  • Coordinate with Legal and Compliance CIB the clients’ on-boarding process. Assist in the communication with the client to get the required documentation, as needed
  • Track the unit activity in the region under his/ her responsibility, monitoring main activity indicators, such as P&L and hit/ miss ratio. Follow up the operations’ pipeline and the budget compliance
  • Promote the bank's positioning as key player in distributing ad-hoc solutions in the market and region under his/ her responsibility
  • Take part in specific working groups and projects related to the business (new IT tools and platforms, strategic and commercial plans, regulatory changes, etc.)
  • Comply with both internal and external operational policies, procedures and regulatory requirements
  • Assist the in-line manager in introducing the unit activity (commercial procedures, systems,market position, etc.) both to internal and external clients
  • Quote and negotiate secondary market orders received from institutional clients, coordinating the pricing and deal closing with the Trading and Structuring desks, as required. Monitor the settlement and post-trade process, helping in solving key incidents and problems if needed
  • Stay abreast of the specific regulation that may affect the product commercialization to the institutional client segment under his/ her responsibility. Focus on advising clients about the new regulation and offering them the more suitable transactions
  • Generate recurrent income in order to meet the revenues targets that are set each year in the Global Sales unit and the Global Sales & Structuring overall budget. Focus on boosting revenues through GM product’s origination with the client portfolio under his/ her responsibility
  • Manage all staffing issues alongside the Sales Institutional Solutions Manager & CIB HR
  • Report to in-ine manager on a periodic and ad-hoc basis about main performance indicators.

Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
