Your Role
As the Engineering Manager, you will play a crucial role in leading and managing one (or two) of our key software development teams.
Your primary responsibility will be to drive the development and architecture of self-service portals for our customers and internal users. This includes the development of vue.js frontends as well as RESTful APIs and GraphQL.
You will lead a team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and autonomy.
Within our current state of growth, you will have the unique opportunity to shape the direction and growth of the team.
The position can be based in one of the office locations in Würzburg or Berlin or remotely in Germany.
Your Impact
- Team leadership – Fostering a highly collaborative team environment by enabling team autonomy and providing required guidance; aligning team goals with organizational goals
- People management – Serve as a people manager for the team, leveraging coaching and mentoring techniques.
- Planning & delivery – Support roadmap planning, monitor progress and ensure quality standards.
- Technical leadership – be a sparring partner for the team’s technical and architectural decisions. Bring in innovative ideas from the industry
Your Skills
- Proven experience leading and managing technical teams. Ability to inspire, motivate, and guide teams and individual contributors towards achieving objectives.
- Deep experience working in a full-stack environment, contributing to both frontend and backend with RESTful APIs. Hands-on experience with javascript or typescript, Frontend technologies like vue.js or react.js as well as RESTful APIs (e.g. with nest.js). In the best case deep understanding of authz/authz concepts and architectures. Experience working with AWS public cloud infrastructure.
- Ability to think critically and strategically, anticipating future needs and developing plans to address them. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to balance short-term goals with long-term vision.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Experience collaborating with diverse teams and fostering a culture of collaboration.
Bonus points
- Proven track record of leading technical teams towards delivering to production multiple times per week.
- Experience working in the telecommunications industry, understanding the unique challenges and requirements of telco infrastructure deployments.
- AWS certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional, or related certifications in cloud infrastructure.
