POSITION SUMMARY
ESRT is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the Accounts Payable Department and ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, payment, and expense reports. The Accounts Payable Manager will also be responsible for managing a team of two Accounts Payable Specialists/Coordinators, providing training and guidance as needed. Additionally, the Accounts Payable Manager will work closely with other departments to resolve any payment discrepancies and improve processes. The successful candidate will have a strong background in accounting and a proven track record of managing a high-volume accounts payable department. This role requires a detail-oriented and proactive professional with excellent leadership skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Manage day-to-day operations of AP Payments team, including supervising inhouse staff & external P2P team, managing invoice payment processing, and assisting with payment discrepancies in a rapidly changing environment
- Ensure the accuracy of all batches prior to posting and issuing payments
- Prioritize daily tasks and address urgent issues offering quick and effective solutions
- Maintain up-to-date documentation of AP processes and procedures
- Manage vendor relationships, supporting the PSA’s with assistance on communication around payment or discrepancy issues as needed.
- Prepare, present and manage reports on accounts payable metrics, invoices in workflow, aging reports, outstanding payables
- Manage and resolve any issues or disputes related to payments or invoices
- Train and develop accounts payable staff, including setting performance goals and conducting performance evaluations
- Provide audit support and participate in walkthroughs for external and internal audits
- Monitor internal controls related to the Accounts Payable function
- Participate in special projects, including new system integrations, as required
- Lead the annual 1099 process, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance for all applicable vendors

- You are able to implement and maintain internal controls using SOP’s and safeguard the company’s assets.
- You will ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices by resolving payment discrepancies promptly.
- You will meet or exceed key performance indicators and targets.
- You will ensure compliance with company policies and procedures as well as regulatory requirements.
- You will contribute to the overall financial health and success of ESRT.
REQUIRED SKILLS / ABILITIES- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent analytical, mathematical and organizational skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE - Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a similar field
- 6+ years of experience working in Accounting
- Yardi software experience and advanced Excel Knowledge required
- Experience with managing and leading a team

- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times

$100,000 - $115,000 a year
Salary is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, job location, size of property where applicable, and/or certifications. In addition to your base salary, ESRT provides discretionary annual bonuses.
