Pay Range: $ 19.28/hr - $ 22.66/hr
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Employee Health Specialist performs the following functions for the Employee Health program:
Accurately collects and analyzes all required demographic, insurance, financial and clinical data elements necessary to register and book employee appointments. They return phone calls, field questions, and report the results of onboarding employees to the appropriate personnel. They supply clerical support during influenza season for the influenza vaccination program, TB program and COVID-19 vaccination/declination entry. The Employee Health Specialist stays up to date on the latest information deemed appropriate to share with employees, as determined by the Director of Employee Health.
The Employee Health Specialist conducts N95 fit testing when needed and maintains the appropriate documentation.
They notify the Employee Health Nurse immediately when an employee has sustained a bloodborne pathogen exposure or is exposed to infectious diseases, i.e., tuberculosis, chickenpox, etc. The Employee Health Specialist may perform selected procedures as defined in the Patient Care Standards Manual. Patient care would include obtaining vital signs, placing patients in exam rooms, obtaining specimens, preparing patients for clinician evaluation, and assisting clinician. Assists in new hire conditional offer screenings, appointment scheduling and reporting of test results. The Employee Health Specialist may transport non-controlled medications to and from Pharmacy and they may transport lab specimens to the Lab. They Maintain employee health information in a confidential and secure manner.
Desired:
Associates or bachelor’s degree
Quantitative and qualitative training in fit testing of N95 respirators

Demonstrates evidence of strong skills in confidentiality, integrity, creativity, and initiative. Demonstrates ability to interact with a wide variety of individuals and handle confidential/sensitive situations and information. Must be self-motivated, flexible, detail oriented, and work with multi-disciplinary teams. Proficient in Excel (including graph creation), Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and ability to run reports from database system. Must have the ability to learn time and labor system. Must have the ability to learn and apply hospital personnel policies. Must possess ability to analyze complex situations and to exercise judgment in defining problems and solutions to correct the problems. Organizational and multi-tasking skills are essential for working in a complex, fast-paced working environment. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to manage complex projects simultaneously. Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position.
