You’ll be responsible for overall employer contract loading using various databases and / or source documents. We provide the training, resources and opportunities you’d expect from a Fortune 5 leader.


This position is full - time (40 hours / week). Employees are required to work any shift between the hours of 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM CST (Central Standard Time) including the flexibility to work mandatory overtime during peak season (October 1st through January 31st).


Training will be conducted virtually from your home.


  • All Telecommuters will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group’s Telecommuter Policy.


Primary Responsibilities:


  • Positions in this function are responsible for on - boarding the medical benefits for new customers

  • Part of a small team of CPS claim experts that works directly with new customers to evaluate their prior benefits, pre - filling intent documents, then interviewing the customer to ensure we understand their true medical claim intent and reflect that in the installation documents role requires technical knowledge of CPS and the workflow around it

  • Will directly interact with new customers as well as the entire UMR set of functions responsible for new customer set - up

  • Will also do production check - out with the customer, ensuring we properly captured their intent

  • Staffing is somewhat regional, aligned with claim office the customer will be serviced out of; however, expectation is they will assist with other offices as needed

  • Responsible for the installation of new medical plans, including migrations from UHC, company acquisitions and existing customers who are adding new/unique medical plans

  • Working directly with the customer in a consultative role

  • Works independently to manage own tasks and applies knowledge / skills to a range of complex activities

  • Demonstrates great depth of knowledge / skills in own function and increased knowledge / skills in other functions such as coding, networks, integration, HRA, HCR regulations, etc.

  • Proactively identifies non - standard requests and potential problems; investigates and solutions using defined processes, expertise and judgement. Resolution is determined by use of knowledge, research, and internal contacts

  • Identify potential claim and / or customer service issues during implementation and create a plan to ensure risk is minimized

  • Consults with key business partners outside of team to ensure benefit intent is understood based on source documents and output matches (coding, SAE, PNO, network services, integration support)

  • Lead and participate in special projects related to new business


While this role has serious impact, it's not easy. Deadlines can be intense and having a keen attention to detail is critical to maintaining workflow and project time lines.

Required Qualifications:


  • Associate's Degree (or higher) OR High School Diploma / GED with equivalent work experience

  • 4+ years of customer service experience with analyzing and solving customer problems

  • Experience with using a computer and Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Word (create correspondence and work within templates), Microsoft Excel (data entry, sort, filter, and work within tables), and Microsoft Outlook (email and calendar management)

  • Ability to work any shift between the hours of 8:00am to 5:00pm CST, including the flexibility to work mandatory overtime during peak season (October 1st through January 31st)


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Experience with using Microsoft PowerPoint (creating presentations)


Telecommuting Requirements:


  • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy

  • Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)

  • Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service

The salary range for California / Colorado / Connecticut / Nevada / New Jersey / New York / Washington / Rhode Island residents is $27.07 - $53.08.Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
